15-year-old Boy Remanded In Prison For Defiling 3 Kids, Including A 10-month-old Baby

A 15-year-old-boy has been remanded in prison custody
by an Upper Area Court in Maraba, Nasarawa State for
alleged r*ping three children, including a 10-month old
baby.
The accused who lives in Rafin Kwara Masaka, was
charged for allegedly having carnal knowledge of two
sisters, a six year-old and an 8-year-old and a 10 month
old baby, all living in the same house.
The police prosecutor, Insp. Joseph Ahua, told the court
that the matter was reported by the victims' parents, at
Masaka Police Station on 12 September.
He said that the accused was arrested and during police
investigation he confessed to committing the offence.
He said that the offence contravened Section 283 of the
Penal Code.
"Whoever has carnal intercourse against the order of
nature with any man, woman or animal shall be
punished with imprisonment for a term which may
extend to 14 years and shall also be liable to fine," the
Penal Code reads.
The accused, pleaded not guilty to the charge, and his
counsel, Mr R.N. Mbu applied for his bail.
The presiding officer, Mr Vincent Gwehemba,
however, refused the bail application and ordered the
accused to be remanded in prison pending final
investigation on the matter.
He adjourned the case till 16 October for further
hearing.
