the Academic Staff Union of universities (ASSU)
before the National Industrial Court over what its

In summons filed on the 16th September, PAAJI is
seeking the court to determine whether or not in
pursuant to section 254C-(1) (j) and (v) the university
lecturers can declare a strike over purported breach of a
memorandum of agreement by the federal government.
The group is also seeking the court to award exemplary
and special damages against ASUU for violation and
frustration of students' constitutional right to be
educated. ASUU chairman, Mr. Nasir Fagge Isa, and all
chapter chairmen of the union were named as defendants in the suit.
