Kenyan President Signs Polygamy Law

A law allowing men in Kenya to marry as many women as they want was signed into law Tuesday by President Uhuru Kenyatta, despite criticism from women's groups.
A statement from the presidency confirmed that the bill, which it said "consolidates various laws relating to marriage", had been signed into law.
The bill, which amended existing legislation, was passed by parliament last month to formalize traditional practice regarding marrying more than one person.
"Marriage is the voluntary union of a man and a woman, whether in a monogamous or polygamous union," the presidential statement added.
The initial bill had given a wife the right to veto the husband's choice, but male members of parliament overcame party divisions to push through a text that dropped this clause.
When the bill was passed last month, female members of parliament stormed out of the session in fury after a heated debate.
The National Council of Churches in Kenya (NCCK), which groups more than 40 churches and Christian organizations from across the east African nation, has also spoken out against the bill.
The national Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA Kenya) has also said it would mount a legal challenge against the law.
"We know that men are afraid of women's tongues more than anything else," female legislator Soipan Tuya told fellow MPs when the bill was passed.
"But at the end of the day, if you are the man of the house, and you choose to bring on another party -- and they may be two or three -- I think it behooves you to be man enough to agree that your wife and family should know," she added.
As in many parts of Africa, polygamy is common among traditional communities in Kenya, as well as in the country's Muslim community, which accounts for up to a fifth of the population.
Many have said the legislation merely acknowledges something that is already widespread.
"When you marry an African woman, she must know the second one is on the way, and a third wife... this is Africa," MP Junet Mohammed told the house during debate on the bill.

NBA bans LA Clippers owner, Sterling, for life; fines him $2.5m for racist comments

Donald Sterling, the L.A Clippers owner who was caught on tape making disgusting racist comments to his girlfriend (read here) has been banned for life from the NBA and fined $2.5 million, which is the max fine that can be imposed under NBA rules. Under the ban, the 81 year old can't go to games, attend practices, make decisions regarding the team or attend NBA meetings.

Basketball Commissioner Adam Silver made the announcement this evening Tuesday April 29th, saying the National Basketball Association will force Sterling to sell the team, which he has owned since the 80's, to another organization.
Silver said Sterling admitted making those comments but showed no remorse. The commissioner said 'Sentiments of this kind are contrary to the principles of inclusion & respect that form the foundation of our diverse, multicultural and multi-ethnic league.

Angry Mobs Burns Suspected Kidnappers To Death in oshogbo [PHOTO]

Three suspected kidnappers were beaten up and burnt to death by mobs in separate incidents in Oshogbo, Osun State on Friday.
Police Public Relations Officer in the command, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, told a Lagos based newspaper that another suspect was caught and mobbed at Alekuwodo area of the Oshogbo.
The Alekuwodo suspect, who was allegedly caught with three children, was rescued by the police before he was set ablaze.
"The suspect was rescued and brought to the police but he gave up the ghost when receiving treatment," the PPRO said.
Following the killings, the State Police Command has issued a warning to residents to desist from meting out jungle justice.
"The command is warning residents of the state against jungle justice. If anybody is arrested, such should be handed over to the police. Nobody has the right to kill any suspect; it is against the law," Odoro added.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, condemned kidnapping as well as jungle justice meted out to the suspects.

Borno Youths Stage Protest In Lagos Over Abduction Of Schoolgirls

Youths, under the aegis of Kibaku Youth Association of Nigeria, KYAN, yesterday in Lagos, stormed the office of Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, calling for the immediate release of students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok Local Government, Borno State who were abducted by the Boko Haram insurgents.
234 female students had been abducted, about 3 weeks ago, by the Boko Haram group and taken to the dreadful Sambisa Forest, Borno State. While some escaped in the process, others are still being held by the sect.
The aggrieved indigenes of Chibok council, Borno State resident in Lagos, stormed the state secretariat at Alausa, Ikeja, in protest and to condemn the abduction of the innocent students after attacking their school in Chibok community.
They therefore called on the Federal Government, state governors and the military in the country to get the girls released forthwith as well as end the insurgency immediately.
The protesters displayed placards with different inscriptions, such as: "Education is not a crime, we want our girls back; Bring our sisters; Where are our sisters; Bring back our girls; hear our cries; we love our siblings; 234 innocent lives is too much to ignore; Rescue the 234 Chibok girls now and others."
"Though we are in Lagos enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the state, however, our hearts bleed over this tragedy that has befallen these innocent young girls whom are our sisters, cousins, mothers of the unborn generation and future leaders of the country," said Moses Zakwa, leader of the youths.
Addressing the protesters after listening to their concerns, Fashola said; "Your coming here today shows sense of brotherhood and passion for your fellow human being especially children and the Lagos state government is also concerned about the abduction of these girls.
"We are really shocked as to the resort to the abduction of innocent young children in our country. Whatever grievances the abductors have, hostage taking is dehumanising," Fashola said.

A 40-year-old alleged criminal godmother and 'queen-pin', Ngozi Onwura, has been arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Anambra State Police Com­mand after her former colleague exposed her.
Her downfall came after a member of her gang was arrested in April by the police for the abduction of one Mr. Felix Obienuwa on March 2, 2014 and while he was being interrogated, he mentioned Ngozi as the source of the guns used by them for their rob­bery and kidnapping operations, adding that they regularly gave her a share of the money received as ransom.
Two stolen cars were recovered from her by men of SARS.
Ngozi who has been covering up her criminal activities by masquerading as a pastor and General Overseer of Praise God Ministry, MINAJ Area, Obosi was said to have regularly provided robbers and kidnappers money to rent guns.
She also practiced tradi­tional medicine, which she used to help barren women conceive and have children.
She gave out money to her criminals to rent guns for robbery and kidnapping activities and also owned and operat­ed the Moon Hotel, which served as a convenient hideout for criminals who were members of her evil congregation and perfect hiding place for those kidnapped.
Speaking with journalist, Ngozi said she had been in Christian ministry for 20 years, admitting that she has a gang of kidnappers who she gives money to rent guns which they use for kidnapping and snatching of cars.
She added that she has six children and one of her sons was kidnapped in 2013, killed and his body thrown into a well.

One-million-women-march To Be Staged In Abuja For The Release Of Abducted School Girls

Women all over the country will on Wednesday stage a one-million-women protest march in Abuja to press for the release of the girls abducted by suspected Boko Haram gunmen at Government Secondary School, Chibok.
Prof. Hauwa Abdu Biu disclosed this, yesterday, during an emergency meeting convened by the First Lady of Borno State, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima on the way forward for the release of the school girls.
She spoke last week on behalf of coalitions of Borno women during which they called for the release of the school girls and offered to go to the Sambisa Forest in search of the girls.
Prof Biu said that the one million march tagged "Free our girls" will involve women all over the country and called for the mobilization of Borno women to Abuja for the rally.
"The last time, we were in black but this time around the colour for the Abuja rally is red; so we should all be prepared and mobilize ourselves for the rally", she added.
Earlier, the First Lady, while addressing the meeting, called on the wives of the security chiefs to assist in mounting pressures on their husbands to intensify efforts towards rescuing the abducted school girls.
"I want to use this opportunity to appeal to wives of security chiefs at the national and state levels to mount pressures on their spouses to intensify effort to rescue our dear children. However, I feel it is necessary to call on all women in Borno to come up with their resolutions and harmonize them," she said.
"Let us all put our differences aside irrespective of our faith, or ethnicity, let us all join hands together to rescue these girls, I know that we can do it, Almighty Allah is with us, He knows our intention", Hajia Nana Shettima said amid sobs.
According to her: "I am sure for now we are not on our own, I am happy to inform you that the wife of the president called me two days ago, I believe that she is also with us, let us all join hands together irrespective of political affiliations."
Most of the women who spoke at the meeting called on the Federal Government and the security agencies to intensify efforts towards rescuing the kidnapped school girls.
They also called for prayers and fasting in Mosques and Churches so that God can touch the heart of the insurgents to release the girls.
Aisha Wakil, who has been in the forefront of calling on the insurgents to lay down their arms and embrace dialogue, cautioned against the use of force in rescuing the girls.
The meeting had in attendance wives of security chiefs in the state, non-governmental organizations, women professional bodies, representatives of Federation of Muslims Women Associations (FOMWAN), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), among others.

Jonathan Pledges To Build Biggest Seaport in Badagry Lagos

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday in Badagry pledged that the Federal Government was planning to build the biggest seaport in Badagry, Lagos State.
Jonathan made the pledge at the 37th coronation anniversary of the Akran of Badagry, Aholu Menu-Toyi I, held at his palace in Badagry, Lagos State.
The president, who was represented by the Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, said the decision to establish the seaport was part of the Federal Government's Transformation Agenda.
"Badagry is a historic town and it is the cradle of tourism, so we hold it in high esteem.
"For over 100 years, Badagry was the exporting point in Nigeria but back then, it was slave that was being exported out of the country.
"We are making plans to build a seaport in Badagry which will be bigger than the one in Ibeju-Lekki.
"The reason for this is to ensure that Badagry exports everything from Nigeria to the whole of Europe.
"With this, Badagry would be redeemed of it lost glory, and also we are not going to marginalise Badagry because it is important to the country," Jonathan said.
The President commended the Akran for instilling peace in Badagry.
"Badagry is a very peaceful place and the Akran must be commended for that because Badagry is a town of many ethnic groups and religions, but he has been able to unite everyone together.
"We appreciate your efforts and we pray God keeps on giving you strength to live for many more years," he said.
Responding, the Akran appreciated the gesture of the Federal Government to develop Badagry after several years of neglect.
Menu-Toyi urged the government not to relent in the ongoing projects in the area, especially the development of Air Force School and vehicles assembly plant.
"I would keep on doing my best in ensuring that peace continues to reign in the town." the Akran said.
The Minister of State for Defence, Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro was part of the Federal Government's delegation to the event.
The Akran of Badagry, at the end, presented a Badagry Pilgrimage Award to the president.

Angry Mob Burn 3 Suspected Kidnappers In Osun

Jungle justice was yesterday carried out in different parts of Osogbo, the Osun state capital, as three suspected kidnappers were burnt to death after being apprehended by youths at the various locations before a mob eventually set them ablaze.
One of the suspected kidnappers was burnt to death at Ayetoro area of Osogbo by a mob, while the other two were burnt at Plantation and Igbona areas of the town.
A suspected kidnapper had on Thursday escaped being lynched by irate youths at Olaiya area of the town and it was gathered that the confession of the suspect who reportedly confessed that he had nine other colleagues in the town prompted youths of different areas to be vigilant.
He was however beaten to a pulp before Policemen and a soldier who were on transit rescued him and he reportedly confessed that the 10 of them came from outside the state to kidnap young children in Osogbo and its environs.
Luck however ran against him when a commercial motorcyclist popularly called Okada rider discovered that the suspect who dressed like an insane person carried a baby who was crying on his hands.
He promptly informed his colleagues about what he noticed and they chased the suspect until they caught up with him at Akindeko Market area in the Osogbo metropolis, where he was later handed over to the Police who came to the scene to rescue him.
Angered by the deadly mission of the kidnappers, the angry youths moved round Osogbo and its environs to search for them and they discovered three through the efforts of members of Vigilante group in the area.
At Ayetoro area of Osogbo where a suspected kidnapper was burnt early yesterday, it was gathered that the suspected kidnapper was found with a baby inside a bag he carried.
Some drivers at the Ayetoro junction were said to have challenged the suspected kidnapper who reportedly dressed like an insane person to open the bag he carried after which a baby was found inside it.
The discovery however prompted the youths in the area to mobilize themselves and set the suspected kidnappers ablaze.
However, it was not certain whether or not the rescued kidnapped baby was alive, as all attempts to see him by Vanguard correspondent in Osogbo proved abortive.
State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Maishanu condemned the trend of burning of suspects in the state, describing it as jungle judgment which he said was against the law.
He said the Police would not allow the state to be turned into a theater of crisis and would do everything to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
While assuring that the Police would conduct thorough investigations of all the cases, the Police Commissioner warned people against taking laws into their own hands.

Five guys, Gang Rape their Male Friend!

According to the LeadershipNewspapers, five male students of a Nigerian university landed into a big soup when they allegedly gang raped another young boy who nearly bled to death from the injuries he sustained from the assault.
One of the students, a 2nd year student whose name was given as Friday Desmond, had been lovers with the raped boy who name was given as George. He had promised to marry George as soon as he graduated from university. Their illicit love affair had been going on smoothly with both of them meeting regularly at selected places.
On that fateful day, however, Friday took four of his friends to Bwari Area Council where George lived with his parents and lured George to a hotel in the neighbourhood. The five students took turns to rape George.
After the incident George was allowed to go. At home, he discovered that he was bleeding from his anus. He quickly alerted his parents who tried every first aid measure to stop the bleeding to no avail. They quickly rushed George to a nearby medical centre where the health officials put him on intensive care.
Every attempt to stop the bleeding failed. The distraught parents enquired what happened to him and he told them how the five students gang raped him and left him with the injuries.
The parents immediately reported the matter in a police station in the area council and the operative swung into action and arrested Friday. The Police in Bwari later transferred the case to Kubwa where Friday is said to have remained in detention.
When contacted, the FCT police command PRO, Altine Daniel, she said was not aware of the case. She however demanded for the day the incident occurred so that she could find out from the station where the incident was reported.

A Madman was Caught with 4 Million Naira and human parts in Benin City! (See details here)

According to PM News, a suspected ritual killer who specialises in selling human parts has been arrested by security operatives in Benin City, the Edo State capital, southern Nigeria.
The man, whose identity is yet to be revealed, was allegedly arrested at the Upper Sokponba road area of Benin with cut to size gun, different human parts and N4 million cash.
It was reliably gathered that the man had lived in a make-shift apartment for close to two years, pretending to be a madman.
According to one of the landlords in the area simply identified as Pa. Onaiwu, who spoke to journalists, the suspected ritual killer was in the habit of behaving funny especially when it is getting dark.
"This man sometimes behaves funny. In the afternoon, you will see him bathing naked, behaving like a real madman.
"What really disturbed us are the dead bodies found around almost the same area. The most serious issues is that if a dead body is that of a woman, the head, the breasts and the private part would have been removed. Same also goes for a male dead body.
"The last person that died around the area was a woman whose head, breasts and private part was cut off. Nobody will ever believe that the man is not a madman, the way he behaves, not knowing that he is responsible for all the killings in that area."
He suggested that someone might have seen the suspect dumping the headless body on the express road and informed the security operatives.
When contacted on phone, Edo State Police Commissioner, Foluso Adebanjo, said he was aware of the rumour but that he was yet to be briefed by the DPO of Ugbekun division in charge of the area, but added that he is making frantic effort to confirm the incident from his men on ground.

Sharia Court Sentences Man To Death By Stoning For Defiling Minor, Infecting With HIV/AIDS

An Upper Sharia Court sitting at Nomansland of Sabon Gari area in Kano State has sentenced Ubale Saudi Dutsa, a 63-year-old man, to death by stoning, following his involvement in the defilement of a 12-year-old girl, Shamsiyya.
Delivering judgment on the matter, Justice Farouk Ahmad held that he relied on Sharia law guided by Quran to sentence the convict accordingly.
Dutsa had pleaded guilty seven times before the sentence was handed down.
The minor was said to have been medically examined at the state-owned Murtala Muhammad Hospital while it discovered that she was infected with HIV/AIDS as a result of the convict's carnal knowledge of her.
The convict was brought before the court on the charge of defiling Shamsiyya from a small part of the state known as Gezawa town.

Manchester United Sack Manager David Moyes

Manchester United manager David Moyes has been sacked, only 10 months after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford.
The club had previously refused to comment on national newspaper reports on Monday that Moyes would be dismissed before the end of the season.
Moyes, [50] was chosen by Ferguson as the man to succeed him when he retired after 26 years in charge last summer.
Moyes left Everton to sign a six-year deal with the Premier League champions. In a statement the club said it "would like to place on record its thanks for the hard work, honesty and integrity he brought to the role".
Manchester United who currently lie in seventh place in the table with four games remaining will record their lowest ever points tally in the Premier League having struggled at Old Trafford in particular.
Under Moyes, Manchester United have lost six league games at home, been beaten in the FA Cup by Swansea and were unable to prevent Sunderland knocking them out of the Capital One Cup in the semi-finals.
In March, some supporters chartered a plane to fly overhead trailing a banner with the words"Wrong One – Moyes Out"a reference to the banner at Old Trafford that proclaimed Moyes to be the "Chosen One" during the Premier League win over Aston Villa.

Sinzu denies debit card fraud allegation and blast Godwon (see full details here)

'It wasn't me', Sinzu says Nigerian rapper Sinzu has denied recent allegations claiming that he is involved in a debit card fraud. The rapper reportedly told blogger Tosin Adeda the person caught on tape perpetrating a debit card fraud is NOT him.

A US local website ABC 7 says authorities are currently looking for a man wanted for withdrawing money from a victim's bank account at an ATM in Walgreen's store on 8535 South Braeswood, Southwest Houston on March 2, 2014.

When asked by Adeda if he knows anything about the matter, Sinzu simply replies 'It ain't me'. Sinzu also had a few words for former-friend-turned-foe Godwon, calling him a 'Fuck boy'.

Apparently, Godwon was one of the first few people who posted the link on social media Twitter. The rappers fell out last year after having a war of words on Twitter. While there is still no official statement from Sinzu over the matter, authorities in Houston are still searching for the man in the video.

Governor Fayemi's Education Policy is a Failure says Ayo Fayose

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate in the June 21 governorship elections in Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has described as a failure, the education policy of the president administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Fayose, who stated this while addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters at Imesi Ekiti, in Ekiti West Local Government Area of the state, said that despite the media hype surrounding Fayemi's achievements in the education sector, the state came 34thin the last WAEC examinations.
In a press statement issued on Saturday by his media aide, Idowu Adelusi, Fayose recalled that when he became governor in 2003, Ekiti was at the 36th position in WAEC and NECO exams but that by 2006, he had brought the state to the 1st position in the South West.
He, therefore urged people of the state to vote massively for him to become governor, promising that the PDP government under his leadership will bring an era of meaningful development and prosperity to the state.
At his campaign visit to Ido Ile, Fayose promised to construct a road linking the town with Imesi Ekiti, urging the people to obtain their voters' cards and keep it safe.
"If you love me and want me to return as your governor, go and get your voter's card ready and don't release it to anybody", he said.

Rapper Godwon Claims US Authorities Are Looking For Sinzu Over ATM Theft (see full details and photo here )

According to Reports by US.
Authorities in the US are looking for a man wanted for withdrawing money from a 38-year old woman's bank account at an ATM in southwest Houston and rapper Godwon claims the man is famous singer Sauce Kid who now bears Sinzu.
Though the man in the surveillance video released on abcwebsite looks like Sinzu, Godwon is saying, he is not a look alike but the rapper himself.

Note that Sinzu and Godwon have not been in good terms and that's probably why Godwon leaked this.

Governor Kayode Fayemi To Start Teaching At Ekiti state University

Internet Fraudsters Lured And Killed Shell Manager, Others (see photos and full details here)

A manager in Shell Development Petroleum Company (SDPC) Nigeria and a businessman have been allegedly killed in Rivers State by fraudsters impersonating as women on a dating site. The corpses of the victims and one other unidentified person have been recovered in a bush by the police in the state. The late Shell manager, Mr. Progress Benin Disi, went missing on March 7, while Shola Olaseinde, the businessman got missing on March 26. Police, it was gathered, were initially working on kidnap until investigation led them to the discovery of a syndicate said to specialise in luring people, especially rich men through dating sites with a view to ripping them off. The detectives reportedly opened communication with the gang and were able to arrest five of them including a pregnant woman. The expectant mother, it was learnt, was the bait used by the gang to engage their victims in sweet talks by phone. The leader of the group identified as, Micheal Eneji a 27 year- old footballer said they were unaware of Olaseinde's death until their arrest. Asked how they killed their victims, he said: "We will take their ATM cards and go to the bank with the pin number they gave us and begin to withdraw N100, 000 every day until the account is blocked. "We did not know that Olaseinde and Disi were unable to untie themselves like others before them and escape". He blamed his involvement in crime on hard times. "When I couldn't afford to pay my school fees, I decided to go into love dating scam. I dwell mainly on Badoo that many Nigerian men visit regularly. "I surf the net and select pictures of black models and impersonate them by using them as my own so that the men will think they are dealing with a woman. As soon as they see the picture, some send a message to me and I will respond. " They will ask for my number and I will give them. I have a Techno phone that has a special voice prompt that allows a man to sound like a woman. "Once I establish contact, I will go to the next step which is to convince them that I will satisfy their sexual urge. Pretending to be a big girl, I will tell them to meet me at a petrol station on Eleme Road while one of my boys, Chibueze, will go there and meet them as my domestic servant and direct them to my house. "To convince them to come, I will claim that I live in one of the estates alone and it will be safer to meet there so that they will not be caught by their wives or girlfriends. While in their cars, Chibueze will tell them to drive towards a deserted place where we would lay ambush for them, dressed in police uniforms. We will stop them and demand to know what they are doing in such a deserted place. "We will over power them and tie their hands and legs while we take their valuables including their ATM card. "Two of us will go the bank and withdraw money from their account through their ATM. If there no much money in the account, we will release loosen the rope and disappear this will enable the person to untie himself and go home." Eneji confessed that the gang had defrauded a lot of men before they were arrested. He said that the gang kept Olaseinde and Disi for several days to enable them (gang) deplete their 'huge' accounts. On how Olaseinde was killed,he said: "I told him to come around 7pm and he told me that it was the perfect time to hang out. At about that time, he drove to the spot with his driver and Chibueze who was on ground joined him. "He directed them to the spot and we took over the car, tied him and his driver up. He did not have much cash with unlike the others. When we got to the bank, I realized that he had about N4.5million naira in his account. "Blindfolded, we took him further into the bush and decided to keep there for some days to enable us empty that account. A few days later we were arrested. I never knew that he did not escape. "The second victim, Mr Disi was not my contract. It was Elijah the leader of another group that contracted me to help execute the job. I became interested when he told me that the maga (late Disi) worked in Shell Petroleum. "All I did was to lure him to visit by promising him good sex. I do not know if they killed him because of the huge amount that was found in his account. The truth is that we do not kill, but rob them of their valuables. We will sell the car, withdraw as much as we can from their accounts and disappear. We know that such crime might not be reported because the man will not tell his family or the police why he was robbed to protect his image. "It is unfortunate that they died; they were still breathing when we left them there. The only difference is that we did not loosen the rope so that they could easily escape." On the role of the lady in their midst, Eneji said: "She is my fiancée and I normally use her to further convince our target to assume that we are real. If the target insists that I should come and see him, I will send my girl to go and meet him. She would be the one that will lure them to the spot where we can take over." He goes by the names Cindy and Empress on Badoo. "Once you search for beautiful models on Goggle search, you will have so many options. If you want so many toasters, select the ones that expose their breast. I am terribly sorry that these men died in the process. We found out that it is easier to collect money in exchange for sex. I dropped out of school because my rich relatives refused to help my mother to train us. I can only get money from them if I send a woman to go and seduce them. I am terribly sorry." A member of the gang , Lekia Emmaden Isaac, said his own duty was to tie their victims. He said: "We have done that severally and when we return, we found that they have escaped. "I did not kill Olaseinde. All I did was to tie him up very well so that he would not escape immediately. I was shocked when I heard that he was found dead. It is possible that a snake attacked him since he was kept in a deserted area." Chibueze, a 17 year-old, who acted as domestic servant said his duty was just to take the victim to a spot where they would be attacked by the other members of the gang. "I did not participate in the main robbery; all I did was to take the suspect to the point where he would be robbed." Gift Princess, the expectant mother said: "Olaseinde called, requesting that I should direct him. I then told him that my domestic servant would wait for him at the agreed spot. "He later called back complaining that he was not comfortable with the route that they passed through. Unfortunately, he was already at the spot and my fiancé, Eneji and others took over from there. " I was only helping my husband to raise enough money to pay for my bride price." The State Command Commissioner of Police, Tunde Ogunsakin said operatives acted based on a report by the family of one of their victims, Olaseinde that he had been kidnapped. "When his family waited for him and could not reach him,they lodged a complaint and I instructed the officer in charge of Anti Kidnapping, CSP Akan to hunt for the missing father of two. Through Intelligence gathering, we were able to arrest the gang . They led us to Ebubu, Eleme, in Rivers state at an abandoned Shell pipeline borrowed pit where the corpse of Shola was lying decomposed. Ogunsakin said the suspects posed as women in most of these love dating site. As soon as they lured their victim, they would arrange a meeting. The lady's duty is to meet with the men who are normally very rich. As soon as they get them, she will lure them to a secluded place and alert members of their gang. They would come and tie the person and then go ahead to withdraw money from his account through ATM"

According to Sahara Reporters, youths in Akure, Ondo State yesterday took to the street to protest the state governments decision barring them from using the Democracy Park in the state which they had planned to use for their annual festival which was to hold yesterday.
According to the youths, they had already taken permission from the State government through a written letter and there was no objection from them prior to today. Aresident, James Ogunkoya, said the mobs took action when they spotted her with somemoneyand trailed her and beat her to a pulp...
Ogunkoya said,
"Around 10am, I saw a crowd around an unkempt woman. Some of the youths picked up sticks and werebeatingthe woman. When I asked what was wrong, they said they found three phones and N100,000 with the her.They said the woman was not mad, but was only pretending to be mad so that she could easily perpetrate evil acts."Another resident said it was N50,000 that was found with the woman.The resident said theyouthsstarted suspecting her when she was overheard speaking like a normal person with somebody two days ago.
"Some guys were convinced that the woman was only pretending because they overheard her talking with a man on Monday night. They also wondered where a mad woman could have found the phones,"A police team was said to have rescued the woman from the mob & she was seen lying on a bench near the counter of the station.Our correspondent noted that she had a burst lip while her arms were bleeding.
A policeman said
"I have been asking the woman questions all day, but she has just been incoherent. She has even refused to tell us her name. At some point, she just started crying, so I let her sleep. I don't even know if she is a mad woman.
"Also, when she was arrested and we searched her, we did not find any money, phone or ATM cards on her. Nobody has come to write any statement here at the station."The GeneralSecretary, Oworonshoki Youth Forum, Babajide Kabiawu, blamed the incident on the fear in the minds of people since the arrest of ritual killers in some South-West states.
He said there was a need for the government to set up a special task force at the community level.
"I do not condone people taking the laws into their hands. However, it is a reflection of the level of insecurity coupled with the discovery of the activities of ritual killers in Oyo and Ogun states.The notorious cannibal, Clifford Oji, used to parade himself as a mad man as well. We have also seen cases in our neighbourhood where supposed mad people kidnapped children. We want the government to support the community in setting up a task force that will evacuate mentally-challenged people.

(photo) Woman stabs co-tenant over bathroom key

A 32 year old woman named Rahman Raliat, residing at Prince Abolaji Avenue, Imolete, Alaga, Baba Adisa Village, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, has been dragged before the Tinubu Magistrate Court for allegedly stabbing her co-tenant, Sulaimon Jamiu with a broken bottle, PM News reports.
She was charged with a one count charge of felony stabbing occasioning grievous bodily harm.
According to reports, both Raliat and Sulainmon live in a compound where the tenants share a single bathroom and toilet. Raliat had gone to Sulaimon's room to ask for the keys to the bathroom but was challenged by Sulaimon for coming to monitor his female guest. Continue...but *viewer discretion advised*
An argument ensued between the co-tenants which led to a fight and in the process, Raliat broke a bottle and stabbed Sulaimon in the face, hand and head. Raliat was reported to have fled the scene immediately she stabbed Sulaimon but was later arrested.
The offense, the police prosecutor, Inspector I. Okeke said, contravened Section 243 of the Criminal Code of Lagos State, 2011. Raliat pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. She was however taken to Kirikiri Prisons until she fulfills the bail conditions.
The next hearing for the case is fixed forMay 5th.

Wizkid has parted ways with his manager, Godwin Tom.

According to LIB the two ended their business relationship this past weekend after a disagreement. Wizkid has since removed Godwin Tom's contact from his social media pages and replaced with another name. Godwin has also removed Wizkid from his page.

NDLEA Arrests 64 Suspected Drug Dealers In Abuja

According to reports,

Officers of the Federal Capital Territory Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), on Wednesday said it arrested 64 suspected drug dealers between January and March.
This was contained in a statement issued in Abuja by the agency's Public Relations Officer, Peter Adegbe.
Adegbe said the command also seized 2.5kg of various illicit drugs during the period.
He said the suspects comprised 61 males and three females.
According to the statement, the agency also confiscated 12 vehicles allegedly used for conveying drugs as well as the sum of N184, 720 suspected to be profits from illicit drug business.
The statement further revealed that the command also secured the conviction of 32 persons at Federal High Court, Abuja, and forfeiture of four vehicles and N52, 970 in court.
Dennis Obiefule, the FCT Commander of the agency urged dealers to shun the illegal business and embrace a legitimate one.

A 19-year-old Pakistani Arrested With N228million worth of Heroin At Lagos Airport

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 19‑year‑old Pakistani, Iftikihar Muhammed Arslan, for attempting to smuggle 25 parcels of heroin into the country.

The suspect, who claimed to be a student of Punjab College in Pakistan, was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, by the operatives when the illicit drug was discovered in his luggage during inward screening of passengers on board a Qatar airline flight.

Preliminary investigation has shown that the suspect left Lahore, Pakistan with the drugs to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, then Doha, in Qatar, from where he connected to Lagos. He is believed to be working for a Pakistani drug cartel.

Spokesman of the agency, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju, who described the incident as the single largest seizure of heroin at the Lagos airport since January, said the NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, found the 25 parcels of brownish substance that tested positive for heroin hidden in a smaller bag inside the suspect's luggage.

Ofoyeju said the suspect was cooperating with the agency's team of investigators.
Meantime, Arslan, who speaks English fluently, confessed how he got the drugs.
"I am a student of Punjab College and I am in Nigeria as a tourist because my friend told me that Victoria Island and Ikoyi are beautiful tourist centres. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the Lagos airport, the heroin was found in my luggage. This is my first time of coming to Nigeria and I had intended to spend a week or two."

In his reaction, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, who expressed delight over the arrest, said Nigeria was winning the fight against narcotics.
"This arrest and seizure will further send a warning to drug trafficking cartels that Nigeria is winning the fight against narcotics. NDLEA is prepared to halt the criminal activities of drug barons through a coordinated drug detection strategies. We are working very hard to also identify other members of the criminal group."

Vanguard gathered that the seized drugs weighing 25.400kg, have an estimated street value of N228 million

Nigerians in Malaysia protest maltreatment by Malaysian police (Photos)

Nigerians residing in Malaysia today April 15th staged a peaceful protest at the Nigerian House in Malaysia to register their displeasure at the way they are being treated by Malaysian police and the embassy's non-nonchalant attitude towards their maltreatment.

The protesters accused the Malaysian police of extortion, abuse and torture of Nigerians. They accused the Nigerian Ambassador and the Nigerian embassy officials of being insensitive to their plight, encouraging the Malaysian police to continually maltreat them. They also accused the consulate officials of not helping to renew their passports or issue
