Aliko Dangote Invests $1billion Into Rice Production In Nigeria. (See full details )

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Friday commended the Chairman, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote for investing one billion dollars ($1billion) in rice production in the country.
The President made the commendation during the signing of the $1 billion-dollar Rice Investment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), between the Federal Government and Dangote Group at the State House, Abuja. The Minister of Agriculture, Adewunmi Adesina and Alhaji Dangote signed on behalf of the Federal Government and Dangote Group respectively.
President Jonathan said the Dangote Group's investment is the single largest investment ever made in rice production in Africa. He thanked Alhaji Dangote for investing in agriculture and assured him that his investment will be worthwhile.
President Jonathan said he looked forward to a time Nigeria will be self-sufficient in rice production and a net-exporter of the grain, adding that the Federal Government will protect Nigeria's borders and check smuggling.
"Government cannot allow its borders to be porous. We are working on non-human measures and smugglers should have a rethink now and change their ways by investing their resources in other meaningful areas," he said.
In less than four years, Nigeria hopes to become a net-exporter of rice. The Dangote Group's investment in rice will cover five states and contribute additional 1.4 million metric tonnes of Paddy rice.
Alhaji Dangote thanked the President for the consistency of government policies, noting that the current $25 billion-dollar Dangote Cement Company was the result of the consistency of government policies. He assured President Jonathan, "We will continue to work hard and will not disappoint you."

OMG: Residents set house on fire after they found baby's placenta (Photo)

The discovery of a baby placenta in the residence of a man, identified simply as Alfa Gani, is causing confusion in the Laduba community, Ogidi area of Ilorin, Kwara State.
The discovery was made when some volunteers went round the Laduba community to appeal for financial contributions from residents for the repair of a faulty transformer in the area.
It was said that the volunteers perceived offensive odour at Gani's residence, which they later reported to other members of the community.
It was said that curious to know what smelled, some members of the community rushed to Gani's residence and demanded an explanation for the offensive odour oozing from his house.
An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, told Punchthat Gani initially accused the community members of intruding into his privacy.
He was said to have rushed to the Oloje Police Station to report the community members.
The source added that before Gani could come back with the police, the community members had entered his house and discovered a boy with a baby placenta.
The enraged community members were said to have beaten up the boy, making him to confess that he was asked to prepare a charm by Gani, who allegedly exhumed the placenta.
While this was going on, our correspondent gathered that a woman, whose baby naming ceremony was recently held near Gani's house, arrived at the scene.
On seeing the placenta, she was said to have rushed to where the placenta of her new-born baby was buried, only to discover that it was missing. She was said to have raised the alarm, alerting the community members to the ugly development.
When he came back with the policemen to arrest the community members, the commotion was still in progress.
The source said,
"The residents narrated their discovery to the policemen. It was at that point that the policemen decided to search the entire house including an uncompleted building behind the suspect's house, after which they discovered some human parts."It was gathered that the enraged mob vandalised Gani's house and set it on fire.
Our correspondent gathered that the policemen, who were overwhelmed by the crowd, managed to prevent them from lynching the suspect as they whisked Gani away to their station. It was learnt that the incident fuelled speculations that there were dens of ritual killers and markets where human parts were traded in Ilorin.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Command, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, however, told our correspondent that there was no den of ritual killers in the state capital.
He said,
"That is not true. What was discovered was not a den of ritual killers, but a suspected criminal who was used to performing fetish activities. The man was looking for a placenta of a new baby, exhumed the buried placenta and used it for whatever yet-to-be identified purpose. He just came back from jail. He went to where a placenta was just buried about three days ago before the incident. He dug up the placenta and while he was doing that, people saw him and tried to do things their own way.
In the process of damaging his house by the youth, the police got there and arrested the suspect with the exhibit.
"The police have started investigation to get to the root of the matter."

See Rapper Vector open apology letter to his former record label

YSG Entertainment, rapper Vector has written an open apology letter to them. Find it below…

Dear Fans and Media Reps:

Apology Letter to YSG Entertainment Limited.

I hope this meets you well. It is no secret that the last 12 months have been the most turbulent of my music career. With regards to the lingering issues about which I have been mute, I, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun popularly known to you as Vector Tha Viper, wish to state the following;
YSG Entertainment Ltd without any doubt, gave me the platform to show case my talent to the world. It is true we had misunderstandings on issues concerning my engagement with them. Continue…
There's an existing Federal High Court injunction preventing me from doing what I love to do and this serves me and my fans no good. However, we have entered into a settlement to have the injunction lifted.
That by reason of irreconcilable differences, my Record Contract Agreement with YSG Entertainment Ltd has been aborted.
That being said, in the spirit of good faith and a show of unreserved commitment to settle these issues amicably out of court, I have sought and obtained permission from the label to pay off the discounted recoupable expenses as contained in the Terms of Settlement in this regards.
I would also like to apologize to the management of YSG Entertainment Ltd for any embarrassment occasioned by my conduct and whatever damage it may have suffered as a result of the slander and libel as portrayed by the media in this regard. These issues were exaggerated by the media as I hold YSG Entertainment Ltd in high esteem. I also appreciate the leniency afforded me by discounting the recoupable expenses for me.
I wish the company well in all their endeavors.
Thank you.
Signed:
Olanrewaju David Ogunmefun.

LMAO : Woman Runs to the Alter & Grabs a Pastor's Pen!s in Ghana *PHOTO*

I saw this interesting piece online and decides to bring it here

This man of God was preaching to his congregation this past Sunday when he asked the congregation to come touch his body and be healed of their diseases.
The lady pictured in blue suit ran up to the alter and grabbed his junk... and held on! The stunned Pastor asked her why she did so, and the lady replied that "her husband penis is not working anymore so she believes when she hold the Pastor's penis, her husband's thing would be healed."
On hearing her story, the man of God encouraged her for her faith, and as she left to go sit down he continued with the sermon

A 28year Old Man Killed his Lover For Rejecting His Marriage Proposal In Lagos

26-year-old gift, who lived on Fadiya Street, Ketu, Lagos, was a fashion designer, Effiong, an indigene of Uyo,Akwa-Ibom State, was working as a driver in a telecommunications company in Lagos.
According to the victim's relatives, gift had met Effiong sometime last year, and the duo had been having an affair since then.
Our correspondent further learnt that Effiong had on many occasions proposed to marry the deceased, but the latter was said to have turned down his request stating that he was a difficult man.
On Thursday at the command's Criminal Investigation Department quarters, Yaba, Lagos, where Effiong is presently being quizzed, a police source said the suspect revealed that he killed the deceased because she refused to marry him.
It was gathered that Sunday was allegedly stabbed his lover on the arm and the breast on the evening of Monday, July 28 after the duo had checked into a hotel on Yusuf Eleran Street, Ketu, Lagos.
A relative of the deceased, who identified himself simply as Dickson ,said Effiong had attacked the deceased barely a month before he eventually killed her.
He said, "The incident happened on Monday evening. It was shocking to all of us. Gift prepared some food, and took it to the hotel on his invitation. They got a room, and checked in. What then happened was that Raphael, who had hidden a pair of scissors in his pocket, swooped on Gift and attacked her.
"She began to scream, but there was no quick response. He injured her brutally with the scissors. It was after a while when some guests in the hotel heard her screams that they came around and asked Effiong to open the door, but he refused.
"They forced the door open, found gift in a pool of blood and alerted the policemen from the Alapere division. This was not the first time he would attack her. About a month ago, while he had come on a visit and the two were alone at home, he had attacked her because she was not ready to marry him."
Our correspondent learnt that after the incident at that time, gift's elder sister, who she was staying with, advised her to break the relationship with Effiong, but the man pleaded with his lover to forgive him.
It was gathered that after the police had arrested Effiong, the deceased was rushed to a hospital in the area, but she did not survive the incident as the doctors reportedly said had lost too much blood from the wounds.
