Boko Haram Leader Caught, 70 Insurgents Killed In Recent Raid In Maiduguri

A top member of the Boko Haram sect
has been arrested by security operatives
who led a siege on Gwoza Hills, in Borno
state. Joint Task Force reportedly killed
about 70 insurgents but took the Boko
Haram leader alive.
After the capture of the terrorist, he was
flown to Abuja for interrogation.
JTF officials believe that the suspect is a
top commander in Boko Haram if not the
leader due to the luxury 4*4 vehicles, he
and his team were moving in.
A source told newsmen, "On Thursday,
soldiers arrested a top member of the
Boko Haram around the Gwoza Hills after
the battle of Wednesday night when
troop took over the hills.
"The Boko Haram member must be a
very high ranking member of the group
if not the head because he had several
Toyota Land Cruiser jeeps in his escort
when he was captured.
"Another thing is that they didn't want
anybody to know his identity; the
commanders immediately flew the man
to Abuja; as we are talking, the man is
being interrogated there."
