Article: Tutored For Death (Must Read)

That moment when creation started man never knew it was a coup which will disheartened mankind and even increase their lamentation. Oh yes! Mankind felt it was a good plan but he received a letter that plan has changed, he busted into tears. He thought he would be considered and may be the letter of appointment given to him will be terminated rather it strengthened the situation.
The penalty given to mankind is too costly in agreement with his vituperations convoluted his stride thus, instead of thinking about the present he is thinking about the future. Who cares about the future? Who cares about the present scenario? What is the essence of man?Aren't we tutored for death?. Let's imagine death is not the penalty then, what will be the penalty? Man has refused to ask rational questions that will trigger the attention of other species,I think compassion and mercy will reign when the time comes.
How will a man consume his own people which he created? Definitely he has something hidden behind his mind. If need be he will unveil them.

Honourable Bamidele cautions Governor Fayose against His Verbal attack on Gen. Buhari

A member of House of Representatives, Opeyemi Bamidele, has warned Governor Ayodele Fayose to stop embarrassing the state by his consistent attack against the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
The governor has consistently claimed that Buhari is too ill to be President of the country.
Fayose also claimed that the recent trip of the former Head of State was to enable him get medical attention, contrary to the position of the APC that he was in United Kingdom on a working visit.
But in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, Bamidele said Fayose by his constant abuse of elders like former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Buhari, was rude.
According to him, the statements credited to the governor constituted a rude invasion of Buhari's privacy and a roughneck tactic.
He said, "Even if, according to Governor Fayose, General Buhari had visited a hospital during his foreign trip, the reasonable question to ask, I would think, is whether or not General Buhari deserves rest or even a medical checkup after a full-fledged and most rigorous (over 30 days) campaign during which he did not miss a single rally?"

INEC must probe Ekiti Election ‘rigging’ tape – Prof. Wole Soyinka

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, says the audio file which purportedly captured some Peoples Democratic Party leaders giving orders to a general to rig the June 21, 2014 governorship elections in Ekiti State must be investigated by the Independent National Electoral Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.
Soyinka said this in a statement while reacting to a front page advert in the PUNCH sponsored by Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, in which the governor discredited the authenticity of the tape based on a report by the US that the Ekiti governorship poll was transparent.
The playwright said the issue was too weighty to be dismissed without being investigated.
He said since Fayose had referenced the US report, the Federal Government could also call on the US to assist in investigating the tape.
Soyinka said no one would lose anything by investigating the tape since it was the job of law enforcement agencies to investigate matters of state.
He said, "For those who have nothing to hide, disrobing lies and forgeries and reinforcing truth is regarded as part and parcel of the obligations we owe democracy. The audio could well be one of such forgeries. We are daily inundated with allegations, evasions, distortions, image plundering and image laundering, all under the permissive canopy of electoral proceeding.
"Once in a while, however, we encounter exposure of an exceptional dimension that appears to strike at the very root of democracy, questions the validity of an entire electoral system and even erodes confidence in the integrity of the state. Such an event need not be regarded as a repudiation of the formal mechanics put in place by an electioneering agency such as INEC, but nonetheless extends the scope of its responsibilities, including its projection of looming hazards of future electoral exercises.
"This is why, in the absence of a Constitutional Court or its equivalent, one is left with no other course than to call on INEC to also take formal charge of the recorded incident of this alleged conspiracy to pervert the course of democracy. For those 'who have nothing to hide,' it is a call that deserves unstinting support. They should not hesitate to assist in calling on the same US expertise to assist us in exposing a forgery.
"We are speaking here of a development that implicates not only products, beneficiaries or would-be constitutional guardians of the electoral process – that is, an elected governor, a governorship aspirant, but also state agencies – the military, two serving ministers – that is, members of the Executive arm of government, one of them in charge of the nation's defence portfolio – and others.
"In addition to the logical role of the police, the nation's electoral commission should undertake an independent investigation and make its findings known to the nation. Is this perhaps something INEC can undertake while the nation waits out its suspended electoral sentence? It only requires repudiation – or validation – of the findings of an already advanced forensic enquiry."

I Can’t Guarantee if Presidential Elections Will Hold on March 28 -- JEGA

According to Sahara reporters The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Attahiru Jega, has told Nigerian federal lawmakers he could not guarantee the 2015 general elections will hold on rescheduled dates in March and April.
At a meeting with Senators Wednesday, Mr. Jega said he could not commit himself to the "sanctity" of March 28 and April 11 – dates for the rescheduled Nigeria's general elections.
He said the electoral commission could not guarantee aspects of the poll that are beyond its control.
Mr. Jega met with the lawmakers to review the decision to postpone the polls from February.
Under the Nigerian law, a further six-week extension of the elections is possible, a prospect opposed by many Nigerians, the main opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, and the international community.
INEC had said the postponement were necessary for security reasons, as military chiefs had warned against going on with the vote to allow it focus on fighting the terror group, Boko Haram.
But the APC said the delay was instigated by President Goodluck Jonathan, to save him and ruling party from losing the elections to the APC candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
Since announcing the new dates nearly two weeks ago, the commission has declined to clearly confirm that there will be no further delay beyond March 28 and April 11, for presidential, National Assembly, governorship and state assembly polls.
Responding to a question by George Akume, Senate Minority Leader, on the sanctity of the new dates, on Wednesday, Mr. Jega said it was difficult for him to respond, saying he could only give assurances over aspects within the control of INEC.
"That's a very difficult question to answer. I have said not everything that has to do with the conduct of successful election is within the control of INEC," Mr. Jega said.
Mr. Jega also said the commission will go forward with its plan to deploy card readers for the elections.
There have been some concerns, mainly from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, about the plan as Nigerian law prohibits electronic voting.
On Wednesday, while PDP Senators opposed the plan, their APC counterparts welcomed it.
Heineken Lokpobri, a PDP Senator from Bayelsa State and Odion Ugbesa, from Edo State, argued against the use of card readers for the elections, saying it would be illegal.
In his response, Mr. Jega said card readers would only be used for accreditation not actual voting.
He said there was no law forbidding the use of electronic devices for accreditation.
"Card reader is used for accreditation not voting. Voting his defined as dropping of ballot paper into ballot box. Accreditation is essential for integrity of the election," he said.
"Nothing in the constitution says we should not use electronic device in the process of accreditation. Anybody that is not satisfied can go to court. We have solid ground on that," he said.
He added that the card readers would curb electoral malpractices, as cloned cards would be detected.
Mr. Jega said INEC will perform a mock test on the card readers.
He said some tests had already been taken in the United States, and will now be tested in the six geopolitical zones.
"The card reader has passed in all the 13 test categories conducted in terms of its durability and versatility," he said.
Mr. Jega said the postponement of the general elections will enable INEC to have a flawless, near-perfect elections.
INEC National Commissioners are to visit state offices to conduct evaluation and comprehensively determine the level of preparation in the election.
He said after the visit, the commission will meet with the heads of departments and directorates of units to conduct a comprehensive assessment, to figure out additional things to be done before March 28.
Mr Jega said a meeting with the inter-agency committee on security will hold a meeting to discuss security on the Election Day.

3 Dead as rival cultists clash in Lagos (see full details inside)

No fewer than three persons have been killed after two rival cult groups clashed in the Ijora Badia, Apapa-Iganmu area of Lagos State.

While one of the victims, identified simply as Jamiu, was hit with an axe, the two others, Kazeem Ayinde and another, who has yet-to-be identified, were killed as a reprisal for Jamiu's death.

Sources told PUNCH Metro that hoodlums from the White sand and Railway areas have always been at loggerheads with those from the Badia community in a supremacy fight.

The two sides were however said to have renewed hostilities on December 25, 2014, after a fight which left many dead on both sides. One of the groups reportedly vowed to even the fatalities.
Our correspondent, during a visit to the area, learnt that people in the community lived in fear of another imminent attack after the three men had been killed.

A resident, Adeyemo Ajayi, claimed that Jamiu's friends from the Badia community avenged his death.
He said, "Jamiu was a neighbour and I knew him well. We used to chat, although I sincerely don't know the job he did. They came to his house with an axe and hacked him to death.
"His family does not live around here, so it was policemen from Ijora Badia that came to take his corpse away."
Ajayi said Jamiu's friends were angry after they learnt he was killed and launched a reprisal on the Railway gang, leaving two dead.
Another resident, Dayo Olusoji, said it was possible that the casualty figure was more than three as the hoodlums sneaked into the houses of targets to kill them.
Olusoji said the cultists usually caught residents unawares, making it difficult to alert the police.
He said, "They don't start their fight until around 8pm. Their fight took a bigger dimension recently when they had a gun battle with the police and in the course of the exchange, some of them were killed and the police also lost few of their men.
"Since that time, they have been counting scores and none of them is ready to lay down their weapons," he said.
PUNCH Metrolearnt that the police were able to apprehend some of the suspects on Tuesday.
A resident who begged anonymity, said the police from the Ijora Badia station, were handicapped in the situation and could sometimes be overwhelmed by the superior gun power of the hoodlums.
He pleaded that the authorities should reinforce policemen responding to emergencies in the area.
"Again, why this has not stopped is because whenever those people are arrested, the police would grant them bail and that seemed to have emboldened them to kill more people since their bail is guaranteed," he added.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.
He said, "Two people were killed. The police are already investigating the killings."

SHEHU SHAGARI TO BUHARI "QUIT NOW" (full details here)

FULL TEXT OF LETTER FROM ALHAJI SHEHU SHAGARI TO BUHARI
My brother, you have contested the Presidential elections 3 times in this country and in all these times, you have never asked me or my people at Shagari village to support your bid. It is very obvious why you can't do that. You don't have the courage after what you did to me.
You truncated democracy with a dastardly coup and took away power from me. You humiliated me and made me to suffer, and you took away my opportunity to RULE Nigeria. You said you do not want democracy in Nigeria.. The same democracy you truncated, you are fighting hard to get with desperation and diabolical power.
You have entered into unholy alliance with some known elements of disunity in the south but let me warn you.
You will suffer hard in the hands of Tinubu and his political merchants who will use and dump you as they did to Nuhu. In 2011, you cried publicly when you lost election, and you made provocative and inciting statements that plunged this country into untoward unrest. You provoked our hot-blooded youths with war cries which erupted into post election violence, that brought Boko Haram into existence, over 500 innocent Nigerians died instantly, most of them youth corpers deployed from one of the unifying agencies of this country. Personally, I do not have a problem with your ambition.
It is your arrogance that bothers me. If you cannot summon the courage to ask me and my family to vote for you because you know we would not, why do you think Nigerians would look kindly on your past record of destroying a progressing democratic institutions painfully put in place by some respected fathers of this nations like Awolowo and Azikiwe. No my brother. It is time to wake up from your delusion and do the needful if you still have some conscience.
I am not writing this to you with vengeance intention. I am a practicing Muslim and we leave matters of vengeance to Allah. I write to you as a Nigerian, your brother and a statesman who is deeply concerned. Quit the presidential race now and save this country from the dangling sword of Damocles being menacingly wield by the crooks who surround you. This elections is not about you or President Goodluck Jonathan. It is about the unity of Nigeria which can only be assured by being fair. By this I mean, being fair to the people of Niger Delta.
We can only do this by either re-electing Goodluck or substitute him with any of his kinsmen from the South-south as that can only count fair for a people who are entitled to 8 years in the office of the President. For the elders council in the north, we have come to the conclusion to work towards realizing that fairness. 4 years more is not eternity. It is not too much of a concession for us to make to move Nigeria forward as one indivisible and united country under one God.
May Allah open your mind to see reason.
God bless Nigeria.

Article: Must Man Dance To That Tune ? (Must Read)

Some people have accused me about writing only on mankind but it is very essential to note that I am an existentialist whose articles are always about mankind. What is the essence of the world? What can we say about this world? Thus far,we can't exempt man,so man is the main actor and the pioneer of all inventions. Time will tell as to whether we are or we not. At times we feel happy and we feel sad,we have emotions that is why we love and hate.If emotions were to be abolished then the caring spirit will be absentia.

What always rings in our hearts is a certain departure from this present world. I am sure we are familiar with it and we hear the statement if not everyday. Anytime we hear it we always feel sober hence, what is the essence of man? One day the stride will be stopped not because we intentionally wished it but nothing is up to man. We can therefore deduce that man is just like a "figure head" it's time to flashback and excogitate about who sinned and who is paying for the consequences then,What answer can we give to that?
 .

We live and die,we love and hate. What difference does that make? If mankind love each other we shall know. when war suddenly comes, people will start running for their lives forgetting the ones they cherish. Hmmmm,we must not be bewildered when we see those things because I learnt that it's for the glorification of ONE BEING. It's time for us to think as I put my pen aside,I hope we won't be cajoled by the expressions of those who always run from reality....Peace be into you

Irate drivers at Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti on Friday attacked an operative of the Directorate of State Service (name witheld) and beat him silly for allegedly interfering in their protest.
Trouble started following a disagreement between the students of EKSU and Akoto drivers designated vehicles plying the institution over the number of passengers on a seat.
The students were said to have protested that the drivers reduce the number of passengers on a seat to its normal three from four that they had started carrying.
The disagreement escalated into a free-for-all and caused traffic gridlock from Bawa Area of Ado Ekiti.
An eyewitness said some of the drivers carried clubs, cudgels and sharp objects to scare passengers and motorists plying the road.
They also forced motorists to discharge students of the institution.
The situation took a more violent trend as the DSS official was attacked.
His clothes were torn to shreds and in the process sustained bruises, cuts and blood stains on his body when the reporters met him.
"I was punched, clubbed, stoned by the drivers and if not for the timely intervention of another colleague who fortunately came to the scene and shot in the air severally to scare the mob away, it would have been worse, " he said.
Officials of the DSS, Policemen and some top officials of the EKSU later visited the scene to restore peace in the area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Albert Adeyemi, could not be reached for comments.
But a police source said it was the DSS official who courted trouble by challenging the drivers.

Soldiers ready to testify to rigging in Ekiti Election — Kayode Fayemi

Kayode Fayemi
A former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has said that some soldiers are ready to testify in support of the leaked audio file on how chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party connived with the military to rig the June 21, 2014 governorship election in Ekiti.
The audio file released bySahara Reporters,an online medium, detailed how the then PDP candidate, now Governor Ayodele Fayose; former Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro; Senator Iyiola Omisore; Minister of Police Affairs, Mr. Jelili Adesiyan and the military allegedly rigged the poll.
Fayemi, who spoke on a live programme, "APC Change Hour", on an Akure, Ondo State-basedAdaba 88.9 FM, monitored in Ado Ekiti on Thursday said the postponement of the 2015 general elections was not about security but about a secret plot to rig the polls.
He said, "We are taking every step to ensure this does not go unpunished. There are many soldiers willing to testify.
"There are many Captain Sagir Kolis who are willing to give evidence in the court of law. I am just appealing to all Nigerians to be patient as events unfold."
He said the All Progressives Congress would resist militarisation of the election based on a judgment of a Federal High Court, Sokoto, which ruled against the use of soldiers for electoral duties.
"We in the APC will not allow the use of the military to oversee the conduct of the elections because we know and we are aware that they have sown fake police uniforms, they have sown fake army uniforms but we will not allow them," he said.
On his defeat in the June election in Ekiti, Fayemi said the APC that had three senators, six members of the House of Representatives, 25 House of Assembly members, council chairmen and councillors could not lose so scandalously, saying "the latest revelations had proved the fact that the poll was rigged."
He said, "Fayose is a desperate man, he is more desperate than (President Goodluck) Jonathan. He is one of the apostles of interim government. Gen. Momoh is a victim; he wants promotion.
"He believes that all his atrocities will come to hunt him; the judges that were beaten, the legislature that was sacked and the civil servants that were harassed.
"They are now using the military to rig elections and Nigerians must be vigilant. It is when the situation cannot be handled by the police that you call in the military.
"If you hear what Captain Koli said, he said they were given instructions (to rig Ekiti polls). Chris Uba, who is not a military officer, was giving order to military officers.
"It was soldiers that drove vehicles that conveyed PDP members to arrest APC members. Our members were arrested and they were not released until the election was over."
On why he conceded victory a day after the poll, Fayemi said there was a "grand plan" from Abuja to kill as much people as possible after the election should there be any demonstration or protest against the result.
Speaking on alleged plot to remove the Independent National Electoral Commission's chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, Fayemi urged Nigerians to hold Jonathan by his words that Jega would not be removed.
The former governor also urged Nigerians to use their votes to flush out what he called "an incompetent government" during this year's general elections, saying Nigerians needed to be vigilant in the days ahead to ensure that nobody tampered with their votes.

dating since 2012. I lavished money on him, thinking he would marry me. He even borrowed
N200, 000 from me and failed to pay back. He also impregnated me on two occasions and he
forced me to abort them. I insisted I would not abort the third one, and he promised to take
care of the baby. But it was a lie. So, I hired Femi to trace him and beat him up. Femi said he
would get two other friends to do the job. I did not know he would go alone. I promised to
pay Femi N20,000 .I did not plan to kill my lover. I only wanted to punish him for neglecting
me for other women ."
Also, 35-year-old Talabi who hails from Epe, Lagos, said the cab driver became suspicious as he wanted to attack him and a physical fight started during which attracted the policemen that arrested him and his victim.
He said:
" I live in the Bariga area, but work as an Air conditioner technician in Lekki. I am not a
cultist. It was Janet (Effiong) who contacted me to do a job for her. I knew her as a
restaurant manager. She said the man was her ex-lover and had abandoned her. I called him
to take me in his cab to a destination on Airport Road, Isolo, where the attack would take
place. I was to pay him N7,000 for the trip. Janeth told me to only assault, and not to kill him.
While in the cab, I lied that I wanted to ease myself and he stopped. When he did, I brought out
a toy gun and wanted to hit him on the head, but a fight started and we as were struggling with
each other, the police found out, and they arrested both of us."
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer,DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the arrest, adding that the police had concluded investigations on the matter.
"The two suspects have also been charged to court," he added.

Federal Government State Reasons Why Feb 14 election Should Be Post-Poned (see full details here)

The Presidency on Friday listed some of the reasons it feels that going ahead with the February dates for the general elections as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission can "throw the country into turmoil and confusion."
It however said President Goodluck Jonathan would not engage in any form of subterfuge to pressurise INEC to change the dates of the elections.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, stated these in Abuja at a press conference called to clarify the outcome of the Council of State meeting held on Thursday.
Okupe said there was no time during the meeting held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja, when the chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, insisted on the February dates as quoted by some media reports.
He listed the level of preparedness of the electoral body and security situation in some parts of the country as some of the reasons why it will be wise to revisit the February dates.
On preparation, Okupe said in all INEC's submissions at the meeting, the only process that was 100% concluded was the preparation and availability of the voters register.
He claimed that all other processes including provision, distribution and collection of PVCs, printing of ballot papers, distribution of verification machines and other non –sensitive materials, recruitment and training of ad hoc staff are all "work in progress."
He added that Jega himself admitted that given a little more time, INEC would be in a better position to perfect the processes and its readiness for the elections.
He said, "Also in his presentations to the Council, the INEC Chairman, stated clearly that for the electoral process to be free, fair, and credible, there are other matters which were not under the control of INEC, principal among which is the issue of provision and guarantee of security of lives and properties.
"The Security Chiefs were unanimous in their advice to the Council that it will be impossible for now for them to guarantee security of electoral materials, INEC Staff, and the voting population in the areas currently engulfed by the war against insurgency."
Okupe said while some opinions were proffered that elections could be allowed to hold on February 14 in 32 states not affected by insurgency, Jonathan made it clear that he would not allow an election where some people will be excluded for no fault of theirs.
He quoted the President as further saying that endorsing such would tend to confirm the falsehood already being propagated in some parts of the country that he was encouraging the war in the North East to ensure that voters in the APC states were not allowed to vote in the 2015 elections.
He added, "For the avoidance of doubt, Nigerians are hereby re-assured that there has never been, and never shall be any plan to cancel the 2015 elections, for any reasons whatsoever. It will not happen, and the May 29th date for the swearing-in is sacrosanct. All talks about interim government arrangement is pure fiction.
"The consideration behind the possibility of change of date is to allow those who may be disfranchised from voting on the 14th February to have an opportunity to exercise their lawful rights to vote and participate in the general elections.
"The new wave of successes being recorded by the Military in the War against insurgency, especially with the arrival of new effective combatant equipment and machinery, plus the newly revamped cross border co-operation with Niger, Chad and Cameroonian Military, offer a very genuine hope that in a very short while, the situation in the affected states will be brought under such reasonable control that will guarantee safety of the electoral process and electorate in the war front region of the North–East at a no distant future.
"We repeat that the only set of people who stand to benefit from a shift in election dates are Nigerians who desire to vote and have not been able to collect their Permanent Voters Cards and other innocent citizens living in the war zone who may not be able to vote on the 14th February.
"We also wish to recollect that in 2003, 2007, and 2011 the elections were held in April, and the hand over date was not affected.
"We therefore challenge the opposition to tell Nigerians in clear terms, what dangers the change of date from February 14th portends to the electoral process or to the Nigerian electorate. It will also be good if the opposition tells us who stands to benefit or be disadvantaged from any shifting of date and how."
Okupe, while saying that INEC was not fully ready for the elections, dared the commission to direct its Resident Electoral Commissioners to swear to an affidavit to prove their readiness for the polls.
"It will be very re-assuring if the INEC can get its RECs to attach their state of readiness to a sworn affidavit and show it to Nigerians.
"The interest of this government is to ensure that we do not have a rancorous and poorly conducted general elections that will throw the country into turmoil and confusion with the likelihood of an unnecessary internal and external rejection and condemnation," he said.
Okupe claimed that in Sokoto State, nine local government areas are yet to receive PVC for the continuous voters registration, barely nine days to the election.
He also claimed that the majority of the 960,000 ad hoc staff needed by the commission are yet to be recruited and trained especially on the operations of card readers that are yet to be made available.
He added that Lagos State is yet to receive a balance of about 12,000 card readers for elections

"My initial thought was that it was somebody living in the area, but when we got there, we discovered that it was an uncompleted building and the man was a stranger."Salami added that the victim might have committed suicide to cover up a secret or run away from a consequence.
A community leader, Samuel Oroja, said the traditional ruler of the community had been informed of the development and plans were on to conduct rites to forestall a recurrence.
"I have called some other elders, including the traditional ruler, to notify them so that we can know what to do about the corpse.
"Nobody knows the man or where he came from. We have reported the matter at the Meiran Police Station.
"What we will do now is to prepare rites and make sacrifices to forestall a recurrence of unnatural death like this because this is a bad sign for the community," he added. However the Police Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, said the police had identified the victim as Mosunmola Raphael, a 28-year-old man.
Nwosu said,
"His relatives came to identify him and they said he had mental problem. His corpse has been released to the family after they presented some documents."
