Pregnant Man Gives Birth To Baby Girl In Argentina

On Wednesday, December 18, the first baby to be
born to transgender parents in Argentina was
delivered via C-section in the province of Entre Ríos.
The proud parents are 26-year-old Alexis Taborda
and 28-year-old Karen Bruselario. Alexis was born a
woman, but lives as a man and Karen was born a
man, but lives as a woman. Because of Argentina's
Gender Identity Law passed in May of 2012, the
couple have both been able to legally change their
genders without gender reassignment surgery, which
meant that when they got pregnant via natural
means, it was the man, Alexis, who carried the baby.
The baby was due on December 22 via scheduled C-
section, but couldn't wait. Alexis started having
contractions the weekend before the scheduled birth,
and the baby was born "early" weighing 9.37 pounds
at Hospital Fermín Salaberry in Victoriain. The couple
named their baby girl Génesis Evangelina.
Reports have it that both Alexis and Karen are
unemployed at the moment. Even during the
pregnancy, they faced economic trials. At five
months of pregnancy, Alexis had to go out and sell
roscas on the street while Karen sold food for money.
They are grateful for all the help and gifts they have
received from not only friends, but strangers as well.
Alexis and Karen do not only hold the distinction of
being the first transgender couple to give birth in
Argentina they are also the first transgender couple
to have gotten married while the groom was
pregnant. They officially tied the knot in November.

Soldier Strangles a Danfo Driver to Death at Obalende In Lagos

This
sad event happened at Obalende in Lagos, The
Danfo driver whose corpse you see in the photo
above was allegedly strangled by a soldier man on
mufti who he carried as a passenger.
Eyewitness account was that on getting to the
Obalende Bus Stop, near the BRT bus park, the
soldier refused to pay his transport fare when the
driver requested it, thus the angered driver refused
to move his vehicle from the park onward to their
destination until the soldier man paid up
An argument ensued between them during which
the soldier, who is suspected to be from Dodan
Barracks in Ikoyi, strangled the driver.
After committing the crime, he attempted to run,
but commuters and passersby who witnessed the
scene caught him and were set to lynch him.
However, if not for the timely intervention of the
police, the soldier might have been killed.
The corpse of the deceased has since been deposited
in the mortuary. May his soul RIP, Amen.

Nigeria Passes Anti Gay Laws

Recently, the Nigerian Senate, following the good
example of the House of Representatives, passed
the bill against homosexuality and lesbianism. As if
they had been waiting for that positive
development, their counterparts in Uganda passed
a similar law. Back in Nigeria, State Houses of
Assembly are taking the same path as their federal
counterparts. The Katsina State House of Assembly
has just passed a law making homosexuality and
lesbianism offences punishable by a 14-year jail
term and N10, 000 fine.
Curiously, in Europe and America, homosexuality
has become fashionable, as governments openly
back the despicable trend. Some of these
governments are so proud of their stand on the
issue that they count it as one of their
achievements. Their argument that individuals can
live their lives as they deem fit in line with the
dictates of their rights as human beings may be
admissible.
But many, especially in Africa, are beginning to
express worry that they are intent on
internationalising it. At some point, some
governments in Europe and even international
sports organisations threatened to withdraw aid to
countries in the developing world that frown on
same sex relationships.
We are persuaded to argue that if gay rights or
homosexuality is a fundamental human right, the
individual should be allowed to decide to whether
to enjoy or repudiate it, as with all such rights,
without any government having to use its
paraphernalia to coerce people to adopt it, use it as
an instrument of state policy or even international
relations. It is a matter for utmost regret that
governments in the developed countries should
express opinion on what is essentially the
prerogative of any country to decide on.
I commend governments of African countries for
taking steps to check its spread, considering the
tendency by Africans to copy everything dished out
by western culture. It will be to their eternal credit
that they have refused to be blackmailed or bullied
by these so-called developed countries, who
believe, erroneously, that cultural and moral values
can be sacrificed in anticipation of a bowl of
porridge.
Furthermore, I totally reject the phenomenon of a
man finding a fellow man sexually attractive, or a
woman finding another woman intimately
appealing. In our view, it is outrightly offensive to
all that is decent and has nothing to recommend it
to any human being in his or her proper frame of
mind.
I still don't get it tho, why on earth would a man
find another man sexually attractive to the extent
of having sexual relations with him? The whole
concept reeks of evil as far as I'm concerned. Kudos
to the Nigerian lawmakers on this one.

Woman And Her Pastor Lover Conspire to Kill Her Husband

Culled from Vanguard
It was quite sad and a pathetic end for Mr Victor
Nsongbunyo, an indigene of Akwa Ibom state and
Deputy Manager at the Nigeria Petroleum
Development (NPDC) Company, Benin City. The
deceased allegedly murdered by his wife Mrs
Enebong Victor and her Pastor boyfriend, Prince
Udoka Nkanchukwu who were paraded by the Edo
state Police Commissioner, Funso Adebanjo last
Tuesday.
Saturday Vanguard learnt that the deceased who was
recently promoted to the position of Deputy
Manager, was due to retire next year. It was learnt
that the decease and his wife had been having issues
with the paternity of their children after the deceased
suspected the wife was having an extra marital affair
with the Pastor.
The deceased was said to have visited home to
complain to both his family and that of his wife after
suspecting that the current pregnancy which is being
carried by the wife was not from him. Consequently,
the families resolved that a DNA would be conducted
after giving birth to the child. Saturday Vanguard
further learnt that it was this arrangement that
infuriated the wife that led her into plotting to
murder her husband with her lover Pastor.
Friday October 22, 2013, It was learnt that the Pastor
whom Vanguard gathered has been a close family
friend, called the deceased on telephone and told
him he wanted to see him. The deceased was said to
have drove to somewhere along Sapele road, to meet
with the Pastor. On getting there, it was gathered
that the Pastor entered the vehicle and stabbed the
deceased twice. As if that was not enough, he drove
the car to hidden destination along Sapele road and
set both the car and the deceased car ablaze.
On Monday 25, the wife was said to have gone to the
office to report that the husband was missing. But
apparently after visiting the husband's office, she
went straight to the bank and withdrew N4milion
from the husband's account.
The wife of the deceased also went to the police to
report the incident. However, staff of the NDDC was
informed that people observed a burnt car and
somebody inside it somewhere along Sapele Road,
they quickly rushed down and found it was that of Mr
Nsongbunyo. The shocked NPDC staff went back to
the deceased wife at their home to inform her of the
situation but found her sitting comfortably at home
watching African Magic. However, detectives
intensified search for the deceased new car which
was given to him by the company following his
promotion. The car, a Volkswagen Passat car was
tracked to a compound at Ekenwan road Benin City.
Vanguard learnt that a lady was accosted by
detectives in the compound and she confessed that
the car was packed by a Pastor that lives in the
compound. When the Pastor came out, detectives
observed burns in his left hand and his face. The
Pastor disclosed that one of his daughters in the
church sowed a seed with the car. He subsequently
took them to the residence of the deceased where it
was discovered that it was the deceased wife.
The duo were arrested immediately and according to
the state Police commissioner, have confessed to
have committed the dastard act. According to
Adebanjo, "what happened was that the Pastor called
the deceased to come and meet him somewhere
along Sapele Road, when the deceased got there the
Pastor stabbed him twice and then burnt the car.
The woman gave the husband's new car to the Pastor
and we found the car with the Pastor. A 2013 model
ofVolkswagen car. It is a very sad and wicked act.
After killing the man in his vehicle he set the car
ablaze. The Pastor changed the plate number of the
car and put a fake one after he murdered the man. It
was when we saw the burnt in his hand that we knew
that he was involved. Though he has confessed and
after now we will take them to court. They both
confessed that they are lovers but I believe that it
was wicked on their part to have plotted the killing of
the man.
Mrs Isonguyo who denied she was having extra
marital affairs with the Pastor, narrated that "when I
did not see my husband I ran to the Pastor because
we have known for a very long time. I took my
husband's new car to him to sow a seed in the church
so that my husband will be found. I told him to take it
to the church but I don't know that he went and
changed the plate numbers. I had to ask him to pray
harder because I love my husband and I don't want
anything to happen to him.
I did not kill my husband because I loved him. I
brought the car and told him to take it to his church
and sow a seed that I want God to answer my prayers
so that my husband will come back. I told him to take
it to the church because even if it is a house I would
have taken it to sow a seed for my husband to come
back. I gave it to him but what I did not know was
that he went to change the plate number and other
papers that have to do with the car.
I was lying down in the house at about 11pm that
day when the police came and arrested me". Asked if
she is having extra marital affair with the Pastor, she
asserted " God forbid, I have not had any affair with
the Pastor. The Pastor has been a close family friend
and we always give him cloths to go and share in the
orphanages. And even when I travelled with my
husband we gave him our ATM card so that he can
take care of our poultry and whatever that is needed
to be done. He has been very honest to us so I don't
know what is happening".
She further denied having quarrel with the late
husband, asserting that "Until I came to this place
nobody told me that my husband is dead. I pray that
God should intervene because I have never
committed any crime before in my life. I want God to
intervene in this matter. I have three boys for my
husband, 17, 16 and 15 years".
In his confession, Pastor Ukachukwu whom Vanguard
learnt has not been to their church, Land of Evidence
Church along Airport Road Benin City, said he kicked
against bringing the car to him by the deceased wife
but decided to accept it when she insisted that she
wanted to sow a seed. According to him "I have been
a family Pastor and sometimes I pick their children
from school.
She called me and said that she wanted to give me a
car to sow a seed in my church. When she even
brought the car I asked her why she should bring the
car in the middle of this crisis but she said her
husband is worth more than any material thing that
she can make any sacrifice for her husband. I
changed the plate number because any gift for
Pastors you have to change it in order to be able to
drive the car". CP Adebanjo said the duo would be
charged to court for murder.

PDP Has Failed Nigerians, Says Baraje

Former acting
National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party,
PDP, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, has passed a damning
verdict on the party, saying PDP has failed Nigerians.
Baraje, who until August 31, when he joined other
members of the party to stage a walk-out from the
ruling party's special mini-convention at the Eagle
Square, Abuja, to form their own faction known as
"New PDP", was a top member and one of the policy
makers of the PDP.
According to Baraje, who spoke with reporters in
Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Sunday, the party
had failed to fulfill its electoral promises to Nigerians.
Baraje said, "PDP has failed the people and I make
bold to say that. The PDP that I know, that I was the
chairman; that I was the National Secretary, currently
is no longer the PDP that we had when I was there
and when many of us were there.
"It derailed because it has failed to fulfill the
promises in its manifestoes.
"We told the people who voted us into power that we
are going to give them economic freedom,
employment, electricity and qualitative education.
We also promised that we were going to give food in
abundance. You and I can answer to these whether
we have been able to do these", he said.
Baraje, who had to resign his appointment as
Chairman of the Board of Nigeria Railway
Corporation, NRC, following his decision to lead the
New PDP as its national chairman, claimed that the
recent defections witnessed in the polity was as a
result of unfilled aspirations, noting that it was
normal to agree or to disagree in the game of politics.
He said, "Anything can happen, provided the party
has the wherewithal to satisfy the electorate. When
election comes, Nigerian electorates have the right to
decide".

Governor Adams Oshiomhole Survives Road Accident

Press Statement from Edo State Government
Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole survived a
motor accident at Ewu Village along the ever-busy
Benin-Auchi road in Edo State at about 9.45am
Saturday, 28th December 2013 on his way back to
Benin City from his Iyamho Village. The incident
occurred at about 9.45am at Ewu, in Edo Central
Senatorial District, when a Peugeot J5 Bus filled
with tomatoes and plantains apparently lost control
and rammed into the Governor's Flag Car from the
opposite direction before swerving into a roadside
ditch.
Three vehicles in the Governor's convoy were in
front of the Governor's Flag Car and had passed the
Peugeot J5 Bus before it [J5 Bus] had direct impact
with the Governor's car, which had the Governor,
his Aide-De-Camp [ADC] and his Driver as
occupants. The Governor's Car was badly affected
but both occupants of the Peugeot J5 Bus and that
of the Governor's sustained no injuries.
The Peugeot J5 Bus was following a truck that was
descending the Ewu Slope when it suddenly veered
off into the Governor's lane from the opposite
direction and directly impacted on the Governor's
vehicle, apparently because of brake failure. The
good story is that nobody sustained injuries in both
vehicles. The Comrade Governor is hale and hearty,
his ADC and other occupants of the Peugeot J5 are
also in good condition.
The incident has been reported to the Divisional
Police Station at Ewu for further investigation. This is
to assure all good people of Edo State that there is no
cause for alarm. Their loving Comrade Governor is
fine, hale and hearty as well as other occupants of
the other affected vehicle. The Comrade Governor is
wishing everyone a prosperous new year ahead.

Timaya still sees me as a threat – Oritse Femi

Oritsefemi Majemite, simply known as Oritse Femi
took the music scene by storm when he released his
hit tracks "Mercies of the Lord" and "Oleju" which
enjoyed massive airplay and an evergreen status in
the hearts of music lovers. Though he plays gospel,
there is so much of dance-hall infusion into it that it
cannot be ignored by a wide spectrum of the society.
In this encounter with WG, the Delta State-born
Itsekiri Femi, born and bred in Ajegunle, bares all on
his journey from the shanty settlements of Ajegunle
to the limelight. Excerpts:
How have you been surviving?
It's hardwork and most especially, you must be
prolific and realise you must change as your
environment changes. Presently, Afro Hip-hop rules
the music industry. For instance, if you are a Fuji
musician, Reggae star or a rapper, you must infuse
Afro into it because it is what rules the scene now.
This Afro is generated from Fela Anikulapo Kuti. If
you listen to Fela Music, he usually sings with our
local pidgin English which they call commercial. So,
you must infuse that commercial and Hip-hop in it.
So, I keep including that in my music.
But the most important thing is your own
uniqueness. I try to rediscover my unique selling
point so that anywhere I go, it will serve as my
identity. And one of my most unique traits is my
vocal, the way I sing and whenever I sing, people
understand and identify that this is Oritse femi.
Meanwhile, I try my best and take my time to put out
very unique lyrics. So, I infuse all these into my
music and it has been working for me.
I make sure the content is beyond reasoning. Another
thing that we, Ajegunle boys, lack is publicity. Our
guys have the mindset that they won't play their
music on radio but I keep asking them to try
nonetheless. The industry is now highly competitive
so you have to promote your songs. I always try my
possible best to meet up with that competition. So,
that's why I'm still relevant.
If you hadn't hit the limelight would you have
still remained in Ajegunle full time?
I will move to anywhere in the world. Like I said
earlier on, the world is like a circle you must learn
how to move around but 'Aje' is still my hood and I
still have a belief in it.
What inspired 'Mercies of Da Lord' ?
I was born and brought up in the ways of the Lord but
because of worldly things, I derailed. But my mum,
who is highly religious and Godly, brought it back.
There was a low time in my life when I felt so
depressed but my mum with her inspiration woke
the spirit of God back in me. I was so filled with the
spirit to the extent I never thought possible.
So, that was how the inspiration came out. Actually,
that song was the last song I did in my album, I was
supposed to round up my album, I've already
rounded up the album; I just need an intro into the
album. But when the producer, Ben Droze heard the
intro, he said what I just dropped can be a track, so
we now completed it, making it a full track.
How was it like working with Pasuma ?
Yes ! Pasuma is a nice and humble artiste. When I
walked up to him that I have a song and I would like
him to feature in the song. Immediately I gave him a
clue of the song, he said the song would be a hit. I
swear that was what he said, so he put his own
impact. We went to Clarence Peter's Studio around
his house.
Suspect was the engineer; I now brought my own
producer which is M-Shine to come and produce the
beats while Suspect took the vocal and because that
place is so close to Pasuma's place then, he came in
to do his own part. After we finished the job, it was so
smooth and fantastic. It was like a dream come
through. Up till now, the song is still relevant
because I still perform it on stage and I see people's
response to it.
Your memorable experience?
I think it was when I was in a group called, The
Jingolist. We released two albums. It was a joint
project with my colleague, Chibudo. The first album
was entitled, 'Boys Dibinu', that is, "Boys are not
happy". The second album was 'Money Na Time' and
they had eight tracks each. Later I went solo and
released an album, 'Elewon', which means "Chase
them".
That was when I started singing about the flopped
politicians and the need to chase them away. It was
released in 2007/08 during the elections and turned
out to be a hit. My second solo album has just been
dropped into the market entitled, 'Unfadeables'. I
was motivated to release this album because of the
wickedness prevalent in the world. One of the hit
tracks that is making waves on radio and TV is 'Mercy
of the Lord'.
It has a remix featuring the late Dagrin, Rhymzo and
also my record label chairman, Shining. We have
already shot the video and it would be out any
moment from now. The 'Unfadeables' has fourteen
tracks. It is going to redefine what the Oritse Femi
people have been hearing about. Apart from the
artistes I mentioned before, I've also featured in my
works 2face, Pasuma Wonder, Nico Gravity, B Kleen
and some other popular artistes in Nigeria. It is a
'thank you' album to my fans who have been urging
me on. The fans have been there, saying that Oritse
Femi cannot fade. That is why I titled the album,
'Unfadeables'. It is a street lingo narrating how
people neglected me when I was not known
As the only surviving musician doing this
genre of music, what are you doing to support
other ones?
Yeah! I've heard so much about that and what I
believe is that, we are all players in one position or
the other. For instance in a football match, we have
everyone playing different wings, so everyone must
be noticed in his or her own position. Even if I am
playing the defence role, I will try my possible best to
be noticed. So, that's why I keep holding that place
that I am.
Already, I don't want to mention names. But talking
about Timaya, he is a good friend and right from
time, Timaya has always seen me as a competitor.
You know sometimes, someone can be your friend
and still feels you are the only problem he has. The
last time that I called him that we should do a song
together, he said we are going to do it but he kept
postponing it because he sees me as a threat. He
doesn't want a situation whereby people will be
comparing us. Timaya is a good artiste and he has
his own energy and he keeps doing what he knows
how to do best but to me, I don't see him as a
challenger. I can compete with any artiste in the
world.
What was the first fee you got as an artiste?
My first money is small; N5million. And five million
naira then is 50 million naira now.
How did you handle the excitement?
It was in cheque because the people that gave me
the money knew I have never handled such amount
before and they didn't want to cause problem. When
I saw the cheque, I was stupefied, speechless and
continued staring at it as if it were a dream. I wasn't
too sure but when I saw the money in front of the
cashier men! I was like wow, and from there the
inspiration rose and that should be around
2004/2005
Before then, what was the highest money you
have ever acquired for yourself?
It was one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) and
that hundred thousand naira, I used it to form big
boy for more than one month because the hundred
thousand naira was like a very big money to me then.
You can't blame me because I was born and brought
up in the ghetto. And the hood that I came from 'I
don dey experience flood before Nigeria dey get
flood' because then even the so called mosquito net
cannot be enough for the population of people living
in that area. We have more than 10 million people
who will struggle to get it. So, if mosquito bites us,
we see it as a way of life. So, you can't blame me if I
see hundred thousand naira and I over reacted.
How was your dream like after you collected
the N5 million, judging from the kind of
environment you were coming from?
Immediately I collected the money, my nightmare
changed. 'I dey dream say na Europe I dey' because
then I used to dream about OPC and Area boys
fighting.
Your latest single, Sagbene is presently
rocking the air and people want to know what
next , can you tell us what you are working on?
My new single will be dropping any moment from
now, it is titled 'Double Wahala' which basically talks
about the problems in Nigeria. Even small children
born today know Nigeria's problem. Nigeria is filled
with hardship; there is insecurity, unemployment
and many others.

Tried and tested tips to reduce pain during menstrual periods

It's that time of the month again! Suddenly those
long walks along the beach, that fun day with friends,
and shopping sprees, have been replaced with
dizziness, nausea, and a strong urge to just lie in
bed. How you wish there was a magic pill to take all
those pains away!
So what's all the fuss about? Why all the discomfort
during your period?
Menstrual cramps are caused due to the shedding of
the inner lining of the uterine wall. This shedding is
assisted by a host of hormones, the master being
'prostaglandins'. Where there is pain there are
prostaglandins! This hormone is also prominent
during delivery. It is responsible for pushing the
lining of the uterus out. Apart from all the hormonal
action, the poor uterus is devoid of blood, therefore
the muscle spasms. In severe cases this condition is
called Dysmenorrhea.
Now that we know why we suffer from menstrual
cramps, here are some tips to help relieve the
discomfort:
Keep up the exercise:
It is important that you continue with gentle
exercise during your periods. It helps by releasing
beta-endorphins, which are internal Opioids — your
own 'human morphine'.
It is natural to feel bloated before your periods, if
you reduce your salt intake a few days before your
periods it will help your kidneys flush out excess
water.
Read: Basics of weight training
Dress for comfort:
Avoid tight clothes, especially at the waist. They only
hurt the stomach and further compressing it causes
discomfort. Leave that belly alone!
Try some home remedies:
A great pain reliever is the wild yam (Ratalu), its
antispasmodic qualities help in making the day that
much more bearable.
Raspberry leaf or jasmine flavored green tea work
wonders in calming the body and mind.
Include a glass of milk in your breakfast. Calcium is
a good cure for cramps. If you are not such a 'milk'
person or are lactose intolerant about 600mg (2-4
tablets) of calcium chewables should do the trick.
Indulge in generous helpings of papaya during and
before your periods. Papaya contains 'papain' an
enzyme that helps to regulate and helps to ease the
flow during menstruation.
Carrots are not only good for your eyes; they also
assist in regulating menstruation. A tall glass of
carrot juice can go a long way in making you feel
much better.
Aloe Vera juice with honey is also well known to
ease the flow and reducing the pain.
Avoid red meat and caffeine. They have properties
that exacerbate the pain
Have a hot shower. Concentrate the flow of water
on your back and abdomen. A hot water bag also
helps to relieve discomfort.
Applying lavender oil around your stomach is
known to help relieving cramps in just 10 to 15
mins.
Just remember to be kind to yourself – Relax, read a
book, listen to some soft music or chat up with
friends. If you feel happy and rejuvenated, your
mind will help you fight physical pain.
However, if you are suffering from the type of pain
you have never experienced before, do monitor it
closely. You may want to see a doctor to rule out any
cause such as Endometriosis, Fibroids, Polycystic
Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS/PCOD), Pelvic Inflammatory
Disease, Premenstrual Syndrome.

entire industry so that both the artistes in the music
industry and the listeners benefit, which makes it a
win- win situation," he said.
Oyeyemi said the initiative was designed to develop
raw talents especially those who have not been able
to break through in music, noting that the
telecommunications giant, MTN, will create a
platform to discover hidden talents and bring them
into the spotlight.
The widely acclaimed digital music competition

UNILORIN Purchases 25,000 Mini Ipads for Its Students

This is in a bid to encourage use of IT in teaching.
The Registrar of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN),
Emmanuel Obafemi, has said that the institution
would, from January 2014, be fully digitalised.
Mr. Obafemi made it known that the development
would make it possible for lecturers to be able to
send assignments to their students via the Internet.
He said;
"As from January 2014, University of Ilorin lecturers
would be able to send assignments to their students
through the Internet from the comfort of their
homes."
He said that the school has already ordered for
25,000 pieces of mini iPads from the U.S. for the
students to enable lecturers to send assignments to
them from home. He noted that the iPads were
already fully loaded with the students' courses and
each student would get one as they resume in
January.
Mr. Obafemi confirmed that because the iPad was
produced in large quantity, the university had
subsidised its price, noting that the whole school was
already connected to the Internet. He expressed the
readiness of the institution's administration to make
the university one of the best in Nigeria and Africa.
Mr. Obafemi also noted that the school would
continue to encourage programmes and policies that
promote global best practices in the education
system. giving an assurance that the institution
would sustain the legacy of the past Vice Chancellor,
Ishaq Oloyede.
"If you come here in another five months, you will see
a positively different Unilorin and well managed
institution."

“I Don’t Believe In a Heaven or A Hell, Or An Old Man Sitting On A Throne” – Katy Perry

Pop singer Katy Perry believes in a "higher power"
but she thinks there is no heaven or hell.
In an interview with the U.S. edition of Marie Claire,
the 29-year-old singer, who was raised in a devout
Christian home claims she no longer believes in a
single religion. Her pronouncement will no doubt
send her minister father's head spinning.
"I don't believe in a heaven or a hell, or an old man
sitting on a throne. I believe in a higher power bigger
than me because that keeps me accountable," she
told the magazine. "Accountability is rare to find,
especially with people like myself, because nobody
wants to tell you something you don't want to hear."
Perry added: "I'm not Buddhist, I'm not Hindu, I'm
not Christian, but I still feel like I have a deep
connection with God. I pray all the time for self-
control, for humility. There's a lot of gratitude in it.
Just saying 'thank you' sometimes is better than
asking for things."
Despite her religious parents being at odds with the
sexy party girl image she portrays, Perry nonetheless
reveals she gets along fine with her mother and
father.
"People don't understand that I have a great
relationship with my parents … like, how that can
exist. There isn't any judgment. They don't
necessarily agree with everything I do, but I don't
necessarily agree with everything they do," she said.
"They pray for me is what they do. They're fascinated
with the idea that they created someone who has
this much attention on her."

Police Arrest Banker For Stealing Customer’s N50 million

The Police Special Fraud Unit, SFU, has arrested one
Adeola Olokojobi, an Account Officer with GTHOMES,
a Central Bank of Nigeria licensed mortgage
institution, for allegedly stealing N50 million from a
customer's account.
In a statement on Thursday in Lagos, the police said
that a petitioner, who is a customer to the bank, had
accused Mr. Olokojobi, his account officer, of not
being forthcoming with his account balances.
The petitioner also alleged that the balance given to
him by Mr. Olokojobi, 31, was at variance with his
actual balance in the account.
"The bank internal investigation into the account
showed a forged instruction by the account officer in
April 2013 transferring the sum of N15 million to an
unknown customer account," the police said.
"Also, the bank discovered other various fraudulent
withdrawals made by the account officer from other
customers' accounts in his care through fake transfer
instructions amounting to over N50 million," the
police added.
The suspect, who joined the bank in 2009 as an
account officer, confessed to fraudulent withdrawals
amounting to N50,640,748 from the account of the
petitioner by transferring funds into the accounts of
customers with forged signature and then
withdrawing the money, the police said.
"The funds were used to finance his political
campaign, proposed pure water company, and
purchase of an uncompleted building at Sango-Ota,
Ogun State," the police added.

“I Fasted For 10 Months Before Becoming A Governor” – Gov. Amaechi

Rivers State Governor has said God, and not man,
installed him as the state governor because he fasted
and prayed for 10 months before he became the
governor.
The governor, who spoke at Saint Vincent De Paul
Catholic Church in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, said
that his government was installed by Jesus Christ,
Amaechi urged the people to disregard those who
claimed to be responsible for his emergence as the
governor of the state.
He said, "As a government led by me, a government
installed by Christ, if anybody tells you he installed
me, tell him it is a lie. Tell him that I said I prayed for
10 months and I fasted from 6am to 6pm, calling on
Christ to come down and Christ came down mightily
and installed me as governor.
"That is why you can see that in the face of human
effrontery, I have been able to stand face to face with
them and I say I have Christ in me.
"You must rise in that same spirit of having Christ in
you and confront those who are confronting you. You
must stand up for Christ because the Bible says 'faith
without work is dead.' We must not die. We must live
and the way to live is to celebrate Christ and the way
to celebrate Christ is to confront Satan and Satan is
in different forms and shapes.
"If the police shoot at you, they are satanic. If
government denies you your right to live, that
government is satanic," Amaechi added.
"All these you may want to attribute to political
disagreement in Rivers State; but it is not true. It is
simply because of those who lead us in Abuja;
because the police is an establishment of the Federal
Government and they have refused to curb the
excesses of the police.
"Instead of the police to chase away criminals, they
are shooting at innocent citizens. Don't stop at
praying. We knew we prayed, but as you pray, you
must rise on your feet and confront the challenges of
insecurity."

Pope Francis Prays For Nigeria, South Sudan Others In Christmas Mass

Pope Francis in his first Christmas Eve Mass in St.
Peter's Basilica at the Vatican, on Wednesday, prayed
for Nigeria and other countries contending with
terrorists' attacks.
In his Christmas message, the Pope specifically
asked God to defend Nigeria's innocent and
defenceless people.
Other countries the Pope prayed for are South Sudan,
Syria, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Philippines, and
Democratic Republic of Congo.
He said the countries had been torn apart by a spiral
of violence and poverty, where so many people had
become homeless, lacking water, food and the
necessities of life.
He said, "Prince of Peace, in every place turn hearts
aside from violence and inspire them to lay down
arms and undertake the path of dialogue. Look upon
Nigeria, rent by constant attacks which do not spare
the innocent and defenceless. Child of Bethlehem,
touch the hearts of all those engaged in human
trafficking, that they may realise the gravity of this
crime against humanity. Look upon the many
children who are kidnapped, wounded and killed in
armed conflicts, and all those who are robbed of their
childhood and forced to become soldiers."
"Lord of heaven and earth, look upon our planet,
frequently exploited by human greed and rapacity.
Help and protect all the victims of natural disasters,
especially the beloved people of the Philippines,
gravely affected by the recent typhoon."
The Pope also urged God to prevent tragedies from
occurring in 2014, adding that peace comes from
daily commitment.

First Ladies Are ‘Executive Prisoners’ – Aregbesola’s wife

Wife of Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola,
Sherifat, on Monday described all first ladies in
Nigeria as 'executive prisoners.'
The first ladies comprised of the wife of the President
and wives of the state governors.
Mrs. Aregbesola, who spoke in an interview with
journalists before the end of the year party she
organised for children in Osogbo, said contrary to the
belief that first ladies were enjoying, she said that
governors' wives had no freedom to live the way they
liked.
She said that herself and her colleagues were
involved in some projects in order not to be useless
throughout their stay at the various Government
Houses.
She said, "All first ladies are executive prisoners.
They are all here now (referring to security aides) and
I can't go to anywhere without them following me.
"Who among the First Ladies is free? Who among
First Ladies can go anywhere they like? All the First
Ladies are executive prisoners. We can only dress like
this and smile to the cameras but we are executive
prisoners."
Wife of Enugu State Governor Sullivan Chime, Clara,
recently cried out that she had been detained in the
Government House, where she allegedly suffered
depression. She has however been set free by her
husband and has left the Government House.
Mrs. Aregbesola said that her husband was a very
simple and caring man whom she would want to
marry again.
He debunked the speculations that the governor was
a religious fanatic, saying that her husband allowed
children living under his roof to practice Christianity
despite that he was a Muslim.
She said, "My husband is a very simple man. He is a
very nice man and I wonder where those behind the
rumour get their information from. I have lived with
him for more than 30 years. I know him very well. He
is very simple and kind. He is very passionate about
the development of the state. He works so hard to
ensure that things are working well.
"My husband allows everybody to practise their
religions. His immediate younger sister is a Christian.
Two of her children are living with us now and they
go to church. I encourage them to go to church on
Sunday.
"His younger brother, Rafiu, is a Christian; I mean he
is a deacon. There are Ladi and Sikira who are
Christians. The rumour about him being a fanatic is
all about politics."

President Goodluck Jonathan’s Christmas Message To Nigerians

The president of Nigeria has sent a Christmas
message to all Nigerians.
Read it below.
Dear Compatriots, I greet and felicitate with you all
as we celebrate Christmas once again. I join our
Christian compatriots and all other Nigerians in
giving thanks to God Almighty whose Grace and
Benevolence has helped our nation to overcome the
many challenges it has had since we celebrated
Christmas last year.
The annual commemoration of the birth of our Lord,
Jesus Christ is a most auspicious time for us, as
individuals and as a nation, to rededicate ourselves
to the virtues and ideals which the Messiah preached
and exemplified during his earthly ministry.
Let us all therefore resolve this Christmas to make
the ideals of peace, harmony, tolerance, love and
goodwill to all even more manifest in our interactions
with others.
It remains my sincere belief that no height of human
accomplishment is beyond us as a nation, if we can
overcome our differences, such as they are, and forge
a binding national consensus to put the progress and
well-being of the country above all other
considerations.
My administration will do all within its powers and
abilities to ensure that when representatives of our
people assemble for the forthcoming national
conference next year, they will have every
opportunity and encouragement to make very
significant contributions towards forging the required
consensus for sustained national peace, unity and
progress.
It is also my expectation that the national conference
will contribute in no small measure towards the
urgent resolution of contentious issues which
currently hinder our progress as a nation.
With God Almighty as our Guide, Strength and
Enabler, My Administration will continue to
implement its Agendafor National Transformation in
furtherance of its avowed commitment to improving
the living conditions of all Nigerians.
We will continue to count on the prayers, support and
cooperation of all patriotic Nigerians in the coming
year as we consolidate and build on our
achievements in several sectors including national
security, power supply, communications,
transportation, health and education.
As we commemorate the birth of the Prince of Peace,
let us all strive to honour Him more by living our lives
as He taught; by making personal sacrifices for the
good of others, by showing greater love for others, by
being fairer and more honest in our dealings with
others, by being ever-willing to forgive those who
offend us and by always extending goodwill towards
others.
On behalf of myself, my family and the Federal
Government, I wish you all very joyful Christmas
celebrations, and a peaceful and prosperous 2014.
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan
President,
Federal Republic of Nigeria

Pastor Adeboye Is A Gay and Cultist - Kemi Olunloyo

Kemi Olunloyo is the daughter of a former Oyo state
governor, Victor Omololu Olunloyo and below is what
she said about Pastor Adeboye.
Cultist and Gay Pastor PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE
will be in Ibadan Monday. Since he is coming
to leave my city with his CURSE, I hope his
private plane crashes on take off at Alakia if
curses rain that day. Post a comment and try
disrespecting my views on my page and you
will see the block button fast. Do you think
Adeboye is an overstretched modern cultist
who sells pure water, bread, schools with
N635,000 a term tuition filled with cocaine
addicted children and simply turned his
congregation into religious bondage? The
church is a business and not a place to fool and
lie others.

Lecturer Killed At Olabisi Onabanjo University

Tragedy struck on Wednesday at the Olabisi
Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun, when
unknown assailants killed a lecturer, just as ASUU
called off its five-month old strike. The News Agency
of Nigeria reports that the victim, Dr Segun
Onabanjo, was a senior lecturer at the Department of
Sociology. According to eyewitnesses, the assailants
broke into his residence in Odomolasa area of Ilese-
Ijebu at about 1a.m. on Wednesday, shot the lecturer
and carted away some personal and household
items. NAN learnt that the corpse has since been
deposited in an undisclosed mortuary. When
contacted on telephone, the Police Public Relations
Officer of Ogun Police Command, DSP Muyiwa
Adejobi, confirmed the killing of the lecturer. Adejobi
said the command was on the trail of the killers who
escaped through a nearby bush. "We are already
working on some leads; the police engaged the
criminals when they arrived at the scene and some
were believed to have sustained injuries in the duel.
"We combed the area and found some blood stains
which we hope will help in this case," he said. "The
police command is seriously investigating this case
and the suspects will be brought to justice.'' Adejobi
called on medical doctors in the state to alert the
command in case they noticed anyone with gunshot
wounds in their hospitals. Meanwhile, lecturers have
resumed work at the university in compliance with
the directive of the national secretariat of Academic
Staff Union of Universities. Students' turn-out was
still low as some were seen returning to the campus
as at the time of filling this report.

Pope Francis Was Once A Nightclub Bouncer

The Pope has revealed he once worked as a nightclub
bouncer in his native Argentina.
The 77-year-old spoke about his life working the
doors at a venue in Buenos Aires during a visit to a
church in a working class suburb of Rome.
The pontiff also talked about his experiences
sweeping floors and working in a laboratory as a
teenager, according to Vatican newspaper
L'Osservatore Romano.
Pope Francis spent four hours chatting to followers at
the church of San Cirillo Alessandrino after
celebrating Mass on Sunday.
He did not go into details about his career as a
bouncer or what experiences it had brought to his
current job as head of the Roman Catholic Church.
Francis meets the faithful at the church of San Cirillo
Alessandrino
Instead, he talked about how his work later in life,
teaching literature and psychology, "taught him how
to get people back into the church", the paper
reported.
Francis said he discovered his vocation to the clergy
after confession with a priest he had never met
before.
He was asked how he spent his day, and said: "I pray,
then I celebrate Mass and then I start work.". He said
this includes reading letters and reports as well as
meeting bishops, priests and laypeople.
He said he eats lunch between noon and 1pm, rests
for 30 minutes and then works until the evening.
In answer to another question, he admitted feeling
stage-fright as Pope while celebrating his first Mass.
"Was I anxious? A little, yes, but everyone was nice.
But it's true, having a lot of people in front of you is a
bit scary," the paper quoted him as saying.

Uganda Bans Miniskirts

Ugandan MPs have passed a controversial bill that
will ban miniskirts.
The anti-pornography bill, which also outlaws overtly
sexual material including music videos, was voted
through after a short debate.
When Simon Lokodo, Uganda's ethics and integrity
minister, proposed the legislation earlier this year, he
said that women who wore "anything above the
knee" should be arrested.
According to Uganda's private Monitor newspaper,
the new legislation will outlaw material which shows
parts of the body including breasts, thighs and
buttocks, or any erotic behaviour intended to cause
sexual excitement.
It will also ban anything that shows indecent acts or
behaviour intended to corrupt morals, the paper
reports.
The bill needs to be approved by the president before
becoming law.

Iyabo Obasanjo's Letter To Her Father by

It brings me no joy to have to write this but since you
started this trend of open letters I thought I would
follow suit since you don't listen to anyone anyway.
The only way to reach you may be to make the public
aware of some things. As a child well brought up by
my long-suffering mother in Yoruba tradition, I have
been reluctant to tell the truth about you but as it
seems you still continue to delude yourself about the
kind of person you are and I think for posterity's sake
it is time to set the records straight.
I will return to the issue of my long-suffering mother
later in this letter.
Like most Nigerians, I believe there are very
enormous issues currently plaguing the country but I
was surely surprised that you will be the one to
publish such a treatise. I remember clearly as if it
was yesterday the day I came over to Abuja from
Abeokuta when I was Commissioner of Health in
OgunState, specifically to ask you not to continue to
pursue the third term issue.
I had tried to bring it up when your sycophantic aides
were present and they brushed my comments aside
and as usual you listened to their self-serving
counsel. For you to accuse someone else of what you
so obviously practiced yourself tells of your
narcissistic megalomaniac personality. Everyone
around for even a few minutes knows that the only
thing you respond to is praise and worship of you.
People have learnt how to manipulate you by giving
you what you crave. The only ones that can't and will
not stroke your ego are family members who you
universally treat like poo (sic) apart from the few who
have learned to manipulate you like others.
Before I continue, Nigerians are people who see
conspiracy and self-service in everything because I
think they believe everyone is like them. This letter is
not in support of President Jonathan or APC or any
other group or person, but an outpouring from my
soul to God. I don't blame you for the many atrocities
you have been able to get away with, Nigerians were
your enablers every step of the way. People
ultimately get leaders that reflect them.
Getting back to the story, I made sure your aides
were not around and brought up the issue, trying to
deliver the presentation of the issue as I had
practiced it in my head. I started with the fact that
we copied the US constitution which has term limits
of two terms for a President. As is your usual manner,
you didn't allow me to finish my thought process and
listen to my point of view. Once I broached the
subject you sat up and said that the US had no term
limits in the past but that it had been introduced in
the 1940s after the death of President Roosevelt,
which is true.
I wanted to say to you: when you copy something
you also copy the modifications based on the
learning from the original; only a fool starts from
scratch and does not base his decisions on the
learning of others. In science, we use the
modifications found by others long ago to the most
recent, as the basis of new findings; not going back
to discover and learn what others have learnt.
Human knowledge and development and civilization
will not have progressed if each new generation and
society did not build on the knowledge of others
before them.
The American constitution itself is based on several
theories and philosophies of governance available in
the 18th century. Democracy itself is a governance
method started by the ancient Greeks. America's
founding fathers used it with modifications based on
what hadn't worked well for the ancient Greeks and
on new theories since then.
As usual in our conversations, I kept quiet because I
know you well. You weren't going to change your
mind based on my intervention as you had already
made up your mind on the persuasion of the minions
working for you who were ripping the country blind.
When I spoke to you, your outward attitude to the
people of the country was that you were not
interested in the third term and that it was others
pushing it. Your statement to me that day proved to
me that you were the brain behind the third term
debacle. It is therefore outrageous that you accuse
the current President of a similar two-facedness that
you yourself used against the people of the country.
I was on a plane trip between Abuja and Lagos
around the time of the third term issue and I sat next
to one of your sycophants on the plane. He told me:
"Only Obasanjo can rule Nigeria". I replied: "God has
not created a country where only one person can
rule. If only one person can rule Nigeria then the
whole Nigeria project is not a viable one, as it will be
a non-sustainable project"
I don't know how you came about Yar'Adua as the
candidate for your party as it was not my priority or
job. Unlike you, I focus on the issues I have been
given responsibility over and not on the jobs of
others. It was the day of the PDP Presidential
Campaign in Abeokuta during the state-by-state tour
of 2007 that Yar'Adua got sick and had to be flown
abroad. The MKO Abiola Stadium was already filled
with people by 9am when I drove by (and) we had
told people based on the campaign schedule that the
rally would start at noon.
At 11 am I headed for the stadium on foot; it was a
short walk as there were so many cars already
parked in and out. As I walked on with two other
people, we saw crowds of people leaving the
stadium. I recognized some of them as politicians
and I asked them why people were leaving. They said
the Presidential candidate had died. I was alarmed
and shocked. I walked back home and received a call
from a friend in Lagos who said the same and added
that he had died in the plane carrying him abroad for
treatment and that the plane was on its way to
Katsina to bury him.
I called you, and told you the information and that
the stadium was already half-empty. You told me to
go to the stadium and tell the people on the podium
to announce that the Presidential candidate had
taken ill that morning but the rest of the team,
including you and the Vice-Presidential candidate
would arrive shortly. I did as I was told, but even the
people on the podium at first didn't make the
announcement because they thought it was true that
Yar'Adua had died. I had to take the microphone and
make the announcement myself. It did little good.
People kept trooping out of the stadium. Your team
didn't arrive until 4pm and by this time we had just a
sprinkling of people left.
That evening after the disaster of a rally, you said
you had insisted that the Presidential candidate fly to
Germany for a check-up although you said he only
had a cold. I asked why would anyone fly to Germany
to treat a cold? And you said "I would rather die than
have the man die at this time." I thought of this
profound statement as things later unfolded against
me. Then I thought it a silly statement but as usual I
kept quiet, little did I know how your machinations
for a person would be used against me. When
Yar'Adua eventually died, you stayed alive, I would
have expected you to jump into his grave.
I left Nigeria in 1989 right after youth service to
study in the US and I visited in 1994 for a week and
didn't visit again until your inauguration in 1999. In
between, you had been arrested by Abacha and
jailed. We, your children, had no one who stood with
us. Stella famously went around collecting money on
your behalf but we had no one. We survived. I was
the only one of the children working then as a post-
doctoral fellow when I got the call from a friend
informing me of your arrest.
A week before your arrest, you had called me from
Denmark and I had told you that you should be
careful that the government was very offended by
some of your statements and actions and may be
planning to arrest or kill you as was occurring to
many at the time. The source of my information was
my mother who, agitated, had called me, saying I
should warn you as this was the rumour in the
country. As usual you brushed aside my comments,
shouting on the phone that they cannot try anything
and you will do and say as you please. The
consequence of your bravado is history.
We, your family, have borne the brunt of your direct
cruelty and also suffered the consequences of your
stupidity but got none of the benefits of your
successes. Of course, anyone around you knows how
little respect you have for your children.
You think our existence on earth is about you. By the
way, how many are we? 19, 20, 21? Do you even
know? In the last five years, how many of these
children have you spoken to? How many
grandchildren do you have and when did you last see
each of them? As President you would listen to
advice of people that never finished high school who
would say anything to keep having access to you so
as to make money over your children who loved you
and genuinely wished you well.
At your first inauguration in 1999, I and my brothers
and sisters told you we were coming from the US. As
is usual with you, you made no arrangements for our
trip, instead our mom organized to meet each of us
and provided accommodation. At the actual
swearing-in at Eagle Square, the others decided to
watch it on TV. Instead I went to the square and I was
pushed and tossed by the crowd.
I managed to get in front of the crowd where I waved
and shouted at you as you and General Abdulsalam
Abubakar walked past to go back to the VIP seating
area. I saw you mouth 'my daughter' to General
Abdullahi who was the one who pulled me out of the
crowd and gave me a seat. As I looked around I saw
Stella and Stella's family prominently seated but
none of your children. I am sure General Abdullahi
would remember this incident and I am eternally
grateful to him.

Egypt Witnesses Snow Fall For The First Time In More Than 100 Years

Cairo has been transformed into a winter wonderland
after a "historic" storm in the Middle East brought a
rare treat to Egypt's capital Friday: a blanket of
powdery, white snow.
Due to Cairo's low rate of precipitation and typically
above-freezing winter temperatures, snow is an
exceptionally unusual weather phenomenon for the
North African city. So unusual, in fact, that the Los
Angeles Times, citing local news reports, writes that
the last recorded snowfall in Cairo was more than
100 years ago.
Ali Abdelazim, an official at the city's meteorological
centre, confirmed to the Agence France-Presse this is
the "first time in very many years" that snow has
fallen in the Cairo area.
Excited Egytians took to social media Friday to share
photographs of the unusual meteorological event.
Now who wants snow to fall in Nigeria ? Drop ur comment

BUSTED: DJ Xclusive bought YouTube views for his ‘Pangolo’ video

DJ
Xclusive who's a hardworking disc jockey is now
branching out into being a frontline artiste
releasing new singles of his own.
But the resident Cool FM disc jockey and his team
may have gotten it all wrong this time around –
hardwork they say always pays and really there
should be no shortcuts to success.
DJ Xclusive's new video 'Pangolo' (which
features vocal performance form Timaya) dropped
on December 11, 2013 and surprisingly gathered
(as at the time of this report) over 6000 views!
Let's just say it is IMPOSSIBLE and we'll tell you
why…
Reason 1 – Anybody who knows their YouTube
well will tell you videos which are recently
published receive a 301+ view count because
according to Ted Hamilton, product manager at
YouTube, view counts are initially tracked by
servers near the end user.
Reason 2 – Isn't it strange that with a 'suspect'
6195 views, the video has not one 'like' or
'dislike'? STRANGE!
Reason 3 – There are 174 comments. Apartment
from the YouTube uploader's (DJ Xclusive)
comment, all other 173 comments are made by
non-Nigerians. With usernames like Jack Woods,
Maybelle Beckerman, Darlene Morales, Julius
Kiesling making random comments like 'he is
gonna conquer everything', 'he is gonna conquer
everything', 'he has shown his difference with
others', 'he has good knowledge about it' and 'it's a
nice collection to me', it's not hard to figure they
are all fake accounts.
Reason 4 – There are no statistics to support the
6000+ views.
Here's what we think happened: Those who
uploaded Xclusive's video apparently bought
YouTube views. Yes, it's that simple, just log
onto authentichits.com and buy 2,150 Youtube
Views for as low as $4.
But we met with Xclusive who tries to explain how
the video garnered so many views. 'We had it up
but as unlisted and shared it with people so when
we made it public, it already had the views'.
