An open Letter to all Nigerian. "It doesn't belong to us" By Jimoh Adekunle .A

Since its a season of Open letters. I decided to speak my mind on what has been bothering my mind all this while.
There are lots of things affecting our African Nations especially our Dear Nation Nigeria. It all started when our colonial masters came to colonise us. They imposed their culture on us.
According to our Fathers, it was the Europeans who thought our community leaders how to indulge in bribery and corruption. Before the advent of colonialism, everybody is equal to the law there's no bias judgement because nobody is above the law. You can display your commodities and go home without any fear of loosing your goods.
The Europeans can to our land to impose their culture and brought along many things also. (Cancer,HIV,STD's, e.t.c). Their foods are poisonous, because it has been preserved with chemicals which are dangerous to our health. No wonder they die young.
All this things doesn't belong to us because our elders leave long before the colonial masters came to our Land. They gave us their poisonous food and drinks. Now our children no longer care for our delicious native dish all they crave for is western dishes. Now Africans die of cancer and other infections which doesn't belong to us.
The european asked us to wear suit under hot sun, we did,
They ordered us to speak their language, we obediently dump ours! Because I remember when I was in primary school my teacher usually flog me for speaking YORUBA language which is my mother Language. Now I can hardly write yoruba language with punctuation marks. Its not my fault. I wasn't taught.
They asked us to tie a rope round our necks like goats, we obeyed!
They said our ladies should wear dead people's hair instead of the natural ones God gave to them, they obeyed.
They said we should marry just one woman in the midst of plenty damsels, we reluctantly obeyed!
They said our decent gals should wear catapults instead of the conventional pants, they obeyed!
Before the advent of GSM our fathers have ways of communication to anybody in the word. Now we waste money to buy card. Our fathers knew how to surf the web and find any information they want without google or any internet subscription. Now we pay heavily to subscribe and browse the internet monthly. All this things doesn't belong to us.
Our Fathers have their own means of transportation which is save an faster. Within the tinkle of an eye, they disappear only to re-appear in any place of choice. The western brought cars,planes,ships and other machines for transportation which has brought deaths to many Africans.
Finally they brought 2 prominent religion to our Land." Islam and christianity" I have nothing against these religion but it doesn't belong to us. Our nation Nigeria suppose to be the best crime free nation in the world due to the way which the christians pray and attend Night vigil. In my street alone, their are more than 10 churches they polute the air with their noise. The muslims pray 5 times daily and still no changes in the country. Nigeria is one of the most corrupt nation in the world and home to internet fraudsters, kidnappers , armed rubbers, militants, suicide bombers. Our fathers didn't experience all these things because the gods they serve delivers judgement with immediate alacrity.

The List is endless. I remain My humble self.
