The Federal government has finally paid the back
salaries owed the Academic Staff Union of
Universities who were on strike for the better part of
2013.
The members of ASUU are reportedly excited about
the large cash windfall as many of them had not
received salaries in several months.
Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities
(ASUU), University of Ibadan chapter, Dr. Segun
Ajiboye said,
"It is encouraging that the salary arrears have been
paid to members, and I believe these cut across
board.
"Right now, members are ready to go back to work.
We however expect government to be sincere in
fulfilling other aspects of the MOU,'' he said.
